Not sure. The big ticket info was made available in September 2020, when Hyundai released the info in Europe.

I would like to think that Hyundai have a strong reason for doing what they do, but the consequence is they piss off a portion of their customer base.

I also think it is fair to say that we (N buyers) are not overly representative of the average Hyundai customer.

I get the impression that Hyundai still do not quite understand enthusiasts and our desire for details, since they are a relatively new contender in the performance car market.

Half of the dealers I speak to don't even understand the difference between the N and N Line range.

Meanwhile, VW Australia has already released all of the pricing and specifications for the Golf GTI, and that's not due here until at least June/July.

God I'd hope not - its not like you can rapidly shift in the middle of a product cycle to adjust your offering. That is, an organisation like VW moves slowly enough that even if Hyundai put out every single specification they have, if VW is 90% of the way in their cycle they're not going to change course for it. Maybe for a mid-life upgrade or the next MY car sure. But by then, Hyundai would also have moved the bar.

You cant keep chasing the competition, sometimes you have to build and release your product regardless of what the rest are doing.

I honestly put it down to poor direction and planning within a business, that causes this. This is more Hanlon's razor than anything else tbh :)

At the time of signing, the only additional information the dealership was able to provide, over and above that that was generally available, was that I could get a luxury manual without a sunroof. The day after I place my order (Dec 2020) the leaked info become available as to the general specs of each model. Still mystifies me, why they can't release the final specs now, as the cars are clearly being built. My guess is that mine should come out of the factory in the next few weeks.

I ordered back in September and still don't know the price of the car, lol. Or even the month that it is being delivered (seems to change every time I call).

Yep, we all have to do something reckless every so often :)

Actually, it is not that reckless, at least not to my way of thinking. My main drivers for me were to get in the queue and to pay what I considered to be a fair price, not necessarily the best possible price.

To this end, I am pretty certain that most of the demand will be for DCT's and hence the initial shipments will also reflect this. As I wanted a manual, I considered the chances of jagging one in a colour that appealed to me, that had not been allocated, reasonably low. Accordingly, I was able to strike an acceptable (to me) deal, based on current pricing, with the price being adjusted by the amount of the change in price between the 2020 and the 2021 models.

My understanding was that once my order was processed by Hyundai Aust, it went into the production queue.

I actually don't think it is reckless. I was ready to do the same thing since it is my first time buying a brand new car and this car had everything that I wanted. I find it a bit ridiculous that the car could be ordered 4-6 months ago but the price is still unknown.

I hope we all get it very soon 🤞

My dealer had already placed an order for several vehicles. The model and colour were OK, so they added my name aginst on of the vehicles from the orginal order. Im hoping that the version I had my name aginst will also be in the first delivery... but Im just not sold on Dark Knight in the hot Australian sun, me thinks that Polar White would be a better choice.

There is not much information in the video, however I made a quick translation of it.

"First cars of face-lifted model i30 N, are coming of the Hyundai production line in Nosovice.

Sports car for everyday use as well as for fast drive on racing circuits, has new design and improved equipment.

The new version builds on the success of an N, which has started to be manufactured in Nosovice in 2017.

Back then, it was the first high-performance, mass produced Hyundai car. There has been 31500 pieces manufactured in Nosovice.

Most of them were sent to Germany and other European countries, but N has also gained great popularity for example in Australia.

Same as with previous model, the new i30N will be available as hatchback and fastback."

OUTSTANDING!

I will call be my dealer later this afternoon and ask for an update, I'm am rather concerned about the pricing as well, and as I keep banging on about, the final specifications! I'm seriously considering hanging out for the Kona N in the belief it will have specific safety items as standard which I don't believe the i30N has.

When did you Order?
 
Spoke to my dealer this afternoon, my vehicle alao has a VIN, but no engine number. I was also told delivey would be in late June. But, still no confirmation pricing. I have asked for local specs.
