What did you do to your N today ?

After testing many hot hatches I reach the conclusion the I30N is the best car to buy (Performance, sound, looks).

But these days I'm seeing many people swapping I30N to fiestas ST just for the fact that is more fun (more rear lose than the N's planted precision for track use).

As I will use the car 99% times on the street. Did you feel the ST, despite being slower and less dramatic sound than the I30N, more fun on your test drive?

I only buy car's for the pleasure of driving, and the fact that the ST3 is ~10K € less expensive than the facelift I30N makes me wonder

No such thing as a demo where I live so I'll let you know once I've taken delivery next week . It's a bit like the N which I also bought sight unseen back in 2018 - you just know what you're getting. And for me it was a simple decision. After 25+ years owning almost no other brand, Hyundai messed up bigtime and made me their enemy - so much so that I'll never go back, on principle. And the consortium that has Hyundai in their evil clutches here (Darwin Motor Group) also has just about every brand under their umbrella excluding Toyota, Mazda and Ford.

So to the Fiesta, I just wanted something cheap and cheerful to play in, and I'm essentially swapping an almost four year-old performance car for a brand new one (albeit in a different class) with zero outlay. I still wholeheartedly agree with your conclusion that the N is, pound for pound, one of the best hot hatches you can get your hands on, and I'll forever sing it's praises to anyone who cares to listen. So I won't try to sway you - you've made a great choice and I can guarantee you'll have heaps of fun in it. The car is solid. But for me, the after-sales service has been pathetic.

To add some context to Gazman's response, have a look at where Darwin is. The next closest dealer of any size is thousands of kilometres away, so he does not have the option of use another dealer, unlike most of us.

Thanks mate, and yes - exactly this ^^^. No reason why my experience should serve as a warning to anyone else when it comes to servicing an N car . I just wish I was trade-qualified so I could do it myself and still maintain a warranty. It ain't hard...

Cleaned the N, Outside and Inside. Bit half assed, though. New window coating, I like being able to drive without the wipers in action.

Noticing more and more stonechips, the most severe has me worried because it's 3 damn craters through the paint.
Anyone has a course of action that excludes repainting the hood?

Still no dry limit reached, although I'm quite shure they are worse in the dry than the PZeroes. Noticed the front just starting to walk on me a few times in roundabouts. Maybe it's just a different feeling for the tyre and there would be some grip left. Not shure here.
The wet performance you can't even compare. wheelhop is just gone. ESC normal you just feel the car cutting some power, ESC sport you get some torquesteer but no wheelhop at all. The feeling is not crazy different to dry. Should have changed tyres earlier.

Proper touch technique will solve the rock chips;

Received the Powerflex transmission bushing yesterday. This is the street version not the black racing version. I’ll install this weekend hopefully and see if it makes any noticable difference with the Turbo Tech Racing upper and lower motor mounts.

If it does I’ll ask TTR to produce a transmission mount;

Debadged and put black overlays. Very happy of the quality of the overlays and the overall look, which comes actually as no surprise as it’s de facto mod.

Wrapped the roof in gloss black vinyl and PPFed headlights.

Happy of the quality and PPF in general not yet sure about the roof, on one hand it looks good on another it was good before too. No sure what was my expectations to be honest, but some wow factor was missing on the pickup. Will keep it for a while and see does it grow on me.

Being I have both upper and lower Turbo Tech Racing motor mount, it didn’t make any noticeable difference.

It might with OEM motor mounts or aftermarket lower bushing but did nothing with the TTR motor mounts.
