My better half supervised my fastback N being loaded onto a truck today to go to the garage. Don't think the mechanic (or her) realised how low the front was!IMG-20190808-WA0001.jpg

Just a word of warning for others!!!

Man, they need to always utilize a skid pad, when pulling up cars with lower front ends. Or at least a ramp extension. I take it this was a flatbed?

They damaged the front end of mine when it was delivered. They used a chain to pull the VN up on a flatbed without utilizing the tow hook. It's was replaced by dealer at the dealers expense also.

I towed vehicles for awhile. Flatbed and lift truck 5 and 10 ton. Always utilized the tow hook if available as well as a ramp extension or skidpad under the front end. Never any chains just straps.

Really no excuse for this, if the operator is paying attention. I suggest you go after the tow operator or company.

Low-clearance cars can be tricky if the operator doesn’t account for the approach angle. Even a small difference in ramp setup can lead to scraping on the front bumper or splitter. Using wood planks, ramp extensions, or skid plates is usually the safest way to reduce the angle before loading.

That’s why experienced operators tend to be extra cautious with performance cars. Discussions around tow and rollback equipment often highlight how important proper loading techniques are. Anyone interested in the truck side of the industry can learn more through resources from Crawford Truck Sales.

Thankfully, if the damage is only cosmetic, it may be an easy fix, but it’s definitely frustrating when a little extra attention could have prevented it.
