Run in period

It's already been ragged to death during the PDI when I collected mine it was on 14mpg. That said I've been good at sticking at under 3000rpm.

How many Miles did yours have on the clock , mines arrived at the dealer they said pick it up next week seems like a long time to wait for a reg and pdi check

So basically drive around up and down gears dont go over 4000rmp so did most people use the car in eco or normal or N lol
Change the oil after 1000-3000 miles ?
Every so often I'll go up to 4.5-5 no more but not often. left it in normal as forgot about other modes lol not thought about oil change yet

I got mine to a dual carriageway as soon as I could. There I did burst with WOT from 1500 rpm to 4500 rpm. That for 100km. Your pistonrings only have a small time window to get seated properly, after the first 100km there isn't a lot you can do anymore. The WOT burst force them to the outside.
Result: 274.9 hp and 398 Nm on 95 ron.

Just to confirm, did you constantly accelerate and decelerate for 100km straight? Or are you saying every so often for the first 100km? Probably best done at night I guess, with the amount of traffic here in the UK.

I litterally did accelerate and decelerate for 100 km straight. Took about two hours. People did look a bit strange I must admit...

Hey guys,
Just interested to see if anyone has totally disregarded the manual and give it a good some good thrash ins in there first 600miles.
Iv been cautious staying under 3-3.5k rpm mostly. but still giving it a couple of 75% throttle through the gears every so often as the temptation is just too much haha.

At around 700-800km i couldnt resist either and started giving it 50-80% throttle. I didnt put the engine and revmatch on sport+ untill 2000km though. If you will or wont be able to resist i would recommend doing a 1.5-2k km oil change. After that give it 100km for the new oil to settle in and start blasting it. :D always wait for it to go up to temp though, i wait untill atleast 70°C better safe than sorry :p

Yea i plan on doing a oil change on 2k just to be safe. Always wait for it to warm up, have with most cars tbh, i find this car warms up extremely quickly mind, sit on drive for 5mins on idle then set off, by the time im at the end of my road its nearly at 90

Sitting an idling is a bad way to warm up a modern vehicle :) they warm up much more effectively by being driven. The manual comments on this somewhere and tells you not to idle to warm up :)

Edit: your oil is at 90 by the end of the street? Wow that’s quick!

Yes I ignored the manual for the most part, and did what was once quoted in this thread:

"I did burst with WOT from 1500 rpm to 4500 rpm. That for 80 miles. Your piston rings only have a small time window to get seated properly, after those first few miles there isn't a lot you can do anymore. The WOT burst force them to the outside "

After the first 100 miles, I then kept it under 4500 for the most part, and avoided any sort of motorway. Strictly B roads and variable speed. After 600 miles, no limits.

Did my first oil change at 1100miles, and now it gets driven N custom profile for work commute, and full N mode on weekends when I feel like embarrassing some "big brand" hot hatches ;)
