You saw on ebay an antidrone res delete, right? Even though mine is My18, i'm not a believer in that "anti drone" stuff, regardless GPF or not.

Res Delete

A res delete could be applied to the MY18, whereas the later models (19 and 20) will have to instal a “gpf delete” which, so far, is not safe from ecu errors. That particular drone free res delete is for 2018 models.
I have done a res delete on the MY18 and its sounds great. A bit noisy when the car starts cold but after about 1 min of warmup it's nice and clear. Love the sound.
I find it hard to believe that Hyundai would implement sensors in the exhaust specifically for, and that would detect a change in the resonator. I have no evidence and I’m probably wrong in making this comment and if I am, my apologies. But main change in the exhaust that we all know about in the 2019 is the GPF and the sensors in the Downpipe - a no go easy mod area - I’m fairly sure that the res delete would be an okay mod in the 2019.
On the my19+ models the gpf is the resonator itself, the gpf has sensors therefore will trigger errors when removed. There are no sensors on the resonator of the my18 models which makes it easier to mod

A resonator delete is no problem and will not throw a CEL or any ECU problem codes for that matter. The GPF model is a different story. It's tied into the ECU with sensors.

A week later...
It's very polarising. I personally love it, but I've had a few people tell me that the sound went from a clean deep sound to a 'farty raspy unrefined noise'. According to some people on the facebook group the extra rasp goes away after some time.
The burbles are so nice!

I love this car... It doesn't sound louder if I have my windows up + exhaust fully open, but the rasp and burbles are so much more obvious with the windows down. Jekyll and Hyde!
i think this might be the first (& only) mod i do to my car if i get one, i did a resonator delete of my VW Golf...best $70 i've ever spent in my life!
Perhaps y'll experience some drone on the motorway at higher speeds, but if that doesn't bother you, it's a win win situation. Glad you are liking it.
To be honest, the car drones even with the resonator at around 2.5-3k rpm, but all I have to do is close the exhaust and the drone goes away
