Res Delete

A week later...
It's very polarising. I personally love it, but I've had a few people tell me that the sound went from a clean deep sound to a 'farty raspy unrefined noise'. According to some people on the facebook group the extra rasp goes away after some time.
The burbles are so nice!
Which brand res delete is that with¿ I’ve heard the RPM performance res delete w/ anti drone makes the exhaust tone deeper!

To be honest, the car drones even with the resonator at around 2.5-3k rpm, but all I have to do is close the exhaust and the drone goes away
If I drive alone I certainly don't mind the drone, but when the wife is on the car and there is a long jorney on motorway I close the valve too. On your regular driving with the res delete, you keep your valve open or close?

Ok. I’m confused. Can I do a res delete on my Australian spec PDE3 ?
square fuel cover....
I just want a bit more noise but don’t want ECU dramas.
According to my very supportive wife who frequents the AU N owners Facebook page - yes, very cheaply, and with no issues (pretty sure there are no critical sensors that far down the exhaust tract anyway). Apparently every man and his dog on the eastern seaboard is doing it.

I wanted to say no, but in Australia you don't have OPF filters in your exhaust system. So yes, you still have a middle res under your car that can be easily deleted. :)

Hi,
I have found a video and the i30N Fastback sounds loud. Do you think it is possible with a 200 cell downpipe?

Yes that's possible but not just with a downpipe. You would need to remove at least one of the silencers.

Also just a small tip: don't trust these videos. Compared to real life hearing, the cars sound nothing like in the video, more like a super loud rattling can if you remove the mid silencer for example.
Try finding someone with these mods to listen to in real life. A mate of mine removed the mid silencer and installed a 200CEL Downpipe - his car was crazy loud but it sounded horrible so he installed the silencer back into the car.

Hi guys, my mate and I also want to remove the resonator, but not just cut it out, but make a new centerpiece, just a pipe.
We can't find 65mm stainless steel pipe anywhere in Russia, only 63mm with 1.5mm wall thickness, i.e. "useful" diameter there is 60mm.
No one measured the wall thickness of the factory 65mm pipe? If they are there 2.5mm or more, then even installing 63mm with 1.5mm walls, we do not lose anything in the "useful" diameter.
And in general it would be interesting to hear, on the basis of which pipe this element was made for you.
Thank you!

Are you talking about making the entire mid-pipe?

If so, I believe most i30N and VN owners will be interested, especially if the price is right.

Will the new mid-pipe be mandrel formed or machine bent?

Yes, I want to make the whole middle part together with the flanges, so that I could install back the factory pipe with the resonator, if I do not like the sound or need to go to the official dealer with a warranty appeal.
I can't say anything about the production technology yet, but as far as I know, a straight pipe about 2.5m long is taken and already bent in the workshop on special equipment for bending pipes.
But, as I wrote above - I can't find 65mm tube in my city, all the workshops only have 63mm with 1.5mm wall thickness

Ark performance, af3 Takeda , Borla, and several other exhaust companies utilize 76.2 mm tubing without a resonator, have no droning issues for the VN.

Something to consider for the i30N.

Does doing the delete effect power in the car at all. I’m guessing it changes the back pressure in the exhaust?
Want the sound of res delete, but not at the expense of power. As I’m guessing factory exhaust has been designed the way it is for a reason.

You're not going to lose power deleting it, nor are you likely to make any gains. Fun fact - the base model (non-Performance Pack) i30N was never fitted with a resonator, nor a valve. The only trouble you're likely to experience is with warranty and the law.

Do you know if the exhaust of the vn and the i30n are compatible?I have the i30n from 2017
