N Side Skirt Stickers

I had just cleaned the car down and dried it, I then wanted to apply the stickers so I thought I'd get a soft cloth and a little bit of water and ensure the area was clean, then dried it with another cloth. Yeah I seated them then pressed as firmly as I could, they felt seated in nicely. Strange either way... Should I have cleaned it with a different solution before hand? Just wondering for next time as I'm gonna need to get some more haha.

Water would have been the worst thing to clean the surface with, and would take ages to dry properly.

Rubbing alcohol or metho, and allow to thoroughly dry. I actually removed the backing and heated the adhesive with a hair dryer to soften it up a little. (Only for about 30 seconds each). Then applied them to a very clean and dry skirt, and mine have been secure for over 6 months now, and are still rock solid.

Thanks for the advice mate, going to do just that when I source some more. Putting this down to my lack of knowledge when it comes to this kind of stuff :)

@BadShadd do you still have some stickers that you are willing to send to Belgium? I think @SR might also be interested so these could be shipped together if he wants some.

I had the AUS ebay stickers, applied after properly cleaning up the skirt with water, allowing to dry overnight, then IPA the following day. They came off yesterday on a long drive. The adhesive is not strong enough on its own, they need something like silicone to ensure they remain attached.

I have the Aus Stickers on too and have had no problems.
I first washed the skirt, then cleaned it with spirit. I then warmed the skirt and sticker with a hair dryer before applying. Warming both surfaces makes them stick better.

How long have you had them for?

I wondered if the production method on the stickers might have changed since you bought them. Mine are about 3 weeks old

My suggestion would be that a combination of water and IPA (Indian Pale Ale) beer would NOT be the best way to prepare the surface. Unless of course you applied the IPA internally to yourself, and used rubbing alcohol to clean the skirt. LOL
