My i20N

Yeah, the Whiteline gear is good. I have their front sway bar, control arm bushings and those rear bushings you've bought to fit. Just need to find the time. 😮‍💨

Do they do a front sway bar for the i20N? Weather is the biggest problem for me as it will all have to be done outside.

My latest update is that I have now fitted the Powerflex Black bushes to the lower engine mount (replacing the previous purple ones I had) and also the Black inserts to the gearbox mount and the top engine mount. All surprisingly easy to do. I’ve only done a short journey so far but the difference is quite profound. Unsurprisingly, there is quite a bit more vibration through the steering wheel and the chassis as a whole - but the car does feel more agile somehow. Anyway, I’ve got a long journey tomorrow so we shall see how they settle in.

And talking about the long journey I have tomorrow - well that is to Courtenay Sport for a stage 2 remap - wish me luck 🤞😅.

Soooo….. what’s the story with my remap. Well to cut to the chase, my ECU decided it would quit taking part about halfway into the upload. Courtenay are fully supportive and have ordered a new ECU but, as it is so close to Christmas, we don’t yet know when it will arrive. In the meantime Courtenay have loaned me a vehicle and are keeping me updated. Unfortunately it has to be a new ECU as they are individually coded to each cars VIN and also to the keys.
Things happen, but it’s how these problems are dealt with that shows the true value of a business.

Ouch. Not really the sort of Christmas present you're looking for, but it is good to know you're dealing with a class outfit. I hope they get it all sorted for you soon. I also hope that this is just a freak occurrence and not something others among us with a remap in our cars future need lose sleep over.

Thanks guys for the support - it’s very much appreciated. The only issue facing us is how long it may take to source the replacement ECU - I’ll keep you all updated 👍. Oh, and happy Christmas to everyone 🥳.

Any news on your ECU Mark ? Are you selling your chip box after you get your car back

No news yet mate - but everyone has been on holiday until today - hopefully I’ll hear before the day is out…. I’ll post as soon as I know anything new.

Yes, I’ll most likely sell my tuning box 👍 - would you like first refusal?

Yes please Mark

No problem mate, I’ll keep you updated. In fact I’ve just had a call from Jon at CS to tell me that Hyundai won’t be able to give a supply update until Monday (which didn’t surprise me).

Latest update - according to Hyundai my new ECU will arrive on the 15th. Of course it still has to be fitted, programmed, and then tuned…. But at least it doesn’t look like it’s going to be the six weeks + we were all worried may be the case. However, we shall see, promises are easily broken.

Got to use mine in the snow today never tried that before, I have to take my Dad to hospital to get his ear sorted. Worst part is getting out from my garage to the road as this never gets cleared
What was it like on the snow - any grip at all?
