Hey all, is this gearbox problem still an issue for all i30n or is it currently with the hatch and no present in the fastback?

I can't understand why some cars have it and not others, my car is exactly the same age as yours and the gearbox is fantastically smooth in all gears, you would think if there was a fundamental fault all cars would be affected.Should be present in all, same gearbox/engine combo.
My car has it and is in dealership getting fixed, MY19 car, built in March but purchased 3 months ago New.

Yes I'm sorry to hear about your troubles, mind you I had to have my brake vacuum pump replaced at 1600 miles so I haven't got off scot free.Yeah I know right... If all of them had it, there would have been a recall issued by now. It makes it all the more annoying when you try to explain it to someone.

Let's hope that's the last of the troubles.I had my 5th and 6th synchro replaced and picked the car up today, can confirm 6th gear goes in perfectly smooth now.

I'm a bit late to N ownership so I'm not sure what all your troubles have been, as I said my vacuum pump for the brakes had to be replaced at 1,600 miles, hopefully that's it, sorry to hear you have had so many troubles on one car, what are you thinking of replacing it with? I had a 308 gti it was trouble free in the 3 years I had it and if I'm being honest the fuel consumption was a lot better than the N for very similar performance. A two year old one can be picked up for less than £18,000.Nope, there is sadly other issues now but it was the last straw for me, so N will be going back as soon as I can formally complete my rejection![]()

Yep, mine has improved with age and use too. Smooth as silk now, 5th to 6th no issue for ages.Interestingly the character of my geabox has changed significantly over time. I've done about 7500 miles now and my issues with 5th and 6th have reduced to the point where they are now the easiest gears to engage.
Send an email to Hyundai. Can someone explain why this seems to still be an issue for some, despite a car now being a full 2 YEARS into a production?
