i30N Bodykits, Styling, Decals - Thread / Discussion

Nice stuff
So what’s it made of ABS plastic?
What do you think of the winglets? They gonna cut off pedestrians legs?
‘Polyethelyne composite’, no idea what that is but the finish feels nice
I don’t really have rear passengers these days so not sure if they’ll inhibit entry to the back. The winglets are adjustable so I have them at the most recessed
Also I figured it’d be good to purchase something local (Australian) to me that was higher quality, I mean just watch this video

Now that, sir - is what you calll 'convincing'.

Damn, I wish I knew if this stuff would fit the VN?
:( I doubt it, the rear diffuser sits pretty snug with the stock body
The rear winglets might though
The side skirts seem pretty specific for the i30n too unless the veloster N has the same body side length

I can do some measurements for you if you'd like?

I haven’t put the front on yet, probably a tomorrow or weekend thing

I love the look of this Rear Diffuser it is the best looking and the best design to me and looks very legit, the winglets I don’t know if they would stand up to the scrutiny, I guess a vandal would have a dam good try at bending those suckers off the car just for the hell of it. The diffuser and front splitter look factory I would order those myself but import duty on those two items adds another £90 to final price of £459 would end up landed £570 as there would be an extra £20 DHL Admin fee to pay as well.

Postage for the two is a reasonable £90 from AU to UK, though would have to add 20% customs charges that would add an extra £90.

Pity no European manufacturers did the same design rear diffuser as good as the Aussie one it looks the best.

That would be good of you to do so. I know the rear diffuser won't but maybe the side skirts and splitter especially since it's already pre drilled.
I'll get measurements to you after I finish work in about 6 hours ;)

@Who! Me. yeah I'm loving it, particularly the rear diffuser! I think I got really lucky in the sense that there was a local manufacturer who I really liked the design of the kit. I liked some of the others in the list thread but they're made in Europe.

It wasn't difficult to install either, just have to have confidence in drilling holes in the stock plastic bumper. I might get a friend to help me with the front lip though, I'll have a go at it tonight by myself.

Also the jack provided is slow to crank but i'm glad my electric drill just has enough torque to jack the car back down, saves me 5-10 minutes!

ok so the stock side skirts on the i30N are 1910mm
The stock middle section (with the red stripe) is about 900mm
And the stock vertical panes are about 190mm apart

The matte finish of the Flow Designs splitters match much nicer with the flat finish of the i30n bumper, also its very very strong, managed to deflect freeway debris that broke my bumper but didnt do anything significant to the splitter itself.

I could be that Sydney friend ;)

I have decided to buy the rear diffuser and front splitter with the winglets saw a car advertised in the UK by Hyuandi with winglets so winglets must be road legal anyway door mirrors stick out far further than the winglets. Can I ask you as you have already installed the rear diffuser I take it you had to align up the rear diffuser with the attached fins to position correctly to the rear bumper was it achieved by just eyeballing it or did you have a template to go by and is this process a one man job or two man job as I take it you are on your back looking up and the underside of the bumper to drill these 8mm holes. Any advice you can throw my way would be appreciated. I’m sure I’ll figure it out but just want advice from a man who has already gone through this process.

Nah absolutely, it'll take me 5 minutes to type up a response but it'll benefit you greatly.
The rear diffuser is super easy to mount. You click the vertical fins onto the horizontal part (make sure you click the right fins into the right places, L1 L2 L3 L4 R1 R2 R3 R4) and then you eyeball it and hold it in place while you drill the holes into your bumper. It'll make your life easierto drill one hole on one end, then screw that hole in place. Then by having it fastened on one end, you'll be able to drill the other holes easily.
The rear wings are trickier, I did it myself but it would really help to have someone hold it in place while you drill. It's not impossible alone but I used some gaff tape in the wheel well to hold it in place.

The sides are a lot trickier, so if anyone else is after that, there are strong caveats in doing it correctly.

I haven't done the front splitter with the winglets yet.

The flow designs package feels incredibly high quality, so you made the right choice

Hey appreciate the response yes I can see from the videos on YouTube it is top quality stuff hard to break so will stand the test of time the rear diffuser is the best looking & I imagined it would be like that the way you have explained as regards to fitting and the fact you took the trouble to write that explanation up was very kind of you to do so sort of gives me a heads up as to hwo to go about it better when fitting. The front lip splitter seems to be a ball of a different colour as Flow design have a QR code that you can access to see how to install the reinforcement brackets. Looks like the front under body shield will need removing first to get at the front underside of the bumper to fit the splitter I tell you that will be an awkward job ok.

Anyway that will be a more tricky job so tell me will you be using a trolly jack and jack stands or will you do like some do on here visit your local garage who will allow you to use their car lift so you can simply stand under the car much easier and less hassle. I will not have that luxury for me it will be a trolly jack and jack stands. then spending a couple of hrs fitting it.

As and when you fit your front lip splitter could you take photographs and let me know if you had to remove the under body shield finally let me know if you thought the job was really awkward.

I ended up getting a maxton design spoiler extension/cap this morning, will put it on along with the front splitter this weekend ;)

I was told the belly pan is a doddle to take off temporarily only six screws and some poppers to remove and bobs your uncle to fit the front splitter so I have ordered the parts will have to wait for better weather as it rains most days here it is freezing and pretty dark so looks like it will be Easter time when the days start getting better and a bit warmer.

Ordered myself some DOTZ WHEELS Kendo dark Matt black will get these suckers fitted soon but the trouble is finding a garage to fit the damn things as most will only fit if you buy the tyres I know a guy who I am sure will fit them he can be a cheeky fecker but hell worth a punt to ask.

Do take pics when you get the front splitter fitted I don’t know about the spoiler extension not to my taste anyway if you like it that is all that matters but I think I will leave my spoiler factory the way it is but the diffuser and the front splitter look the dogs balls for sure and they do look factory.

Alright so everything has finally been installed.

I think I may start a member's cars and projects thread detailing the install and a rough guide so I don't keep spamming this thread about general body&styling.

Here are the pics of the front splitter, there's an orange tint to the light because of the bush fires creating a lot of smoke
