I30N 2024 (Last Facelift)

Good afternoon to you,

as expetcted, the interview to Albert Biermann, Vice President of engineering of BMW's M division, today Hyundai's Technical Advisor and from 2015 to until 2022 Vice President Hyundai's Vehicle Test & High Performance Development, "the father" of the i30N and i20N, which foresees the end of current petrol models N:

Too bad, the end of real "automobili", not machines!
A warm greeting, ciao
I still do think that Hyundai will give us one last goodbye with a special addition i20n before it’s discontinued permanently, maybe not a full FL but something similar.
If not it’s definitely the beginning of the end for petrol powered hot hatches,my advice is if you’ve got one then keep hold,as it’s probably the last in the line.🥲

Unfortunately, I think we are already significantly further along than ‘the beginning of the end’ and I also doubt we will see an SE i20N, unless it is just a badging exercise.

Yeah there’s still a few that you can still purchase type R,N’s,ST’s ect,so it’s not completely the end of the line yet.
Maybe we’ll get a performance ED,as a final swan song, but unfortunately looks like the full FL has been canned.
I’m really not to bothered as petrol will be available for many many years at the pumps, and mine definitely won’t be getting sold.
Maybe when the new golf gti electic thingy is available,it might sway me,but until then it’s good old petroleum.

Was lucky to get my I30N DCT about two weeks ago(ordered february-march for someone else, I paid the deposit in august). Dealer said cannot be ordered anymore in Romania, so it was the last one to be sold in my town, one of the last in the country. Same dealer sells Ford, ST also not available anymore. Renault Megane RS import was stopped a long time ago. Looks to me like the end of ~300hp gasoline hot hatch in EU is near. Only 1.0 engines or electric scoteers from now on...

I am in the UK.

I ordered a car on August 1st and I got a call from the dealer to say I can't have the N Light Seats as they have been discontinued for the model year '24 (starting production in Feb 24). They couldn't get me a build date for this year so I called round all the dealers in the south east of England. I found mine with a September build slot with everything I wanted (Engine red, DCT, NLS) that was ear marked for the managers demonstrator. I was very lucky!

They didn't want to sell it to me and wouldn't discount it, so I sent them my invoice from the other dealership with the March order and they honoured the discount. Apparently the manager was upset that he lost his car..

My car's build date is September 21st 2023.

On a side note, I'm sure they have improved the sound system since my Feb '23 build date car (ex demo), I had bought back off of me due to bodywork issues.
What were the bodywork issues?

They ended up respraying 7 body panels on the ex demonstrator, due to two previous very poor repairs and further crash damage. Try and not touch Eden with a barge pole.
That's the thing about buying a demo which has been on the sales fleet for weeks or more and driven by multiple drivers. They'll all have been ragged around a fair bit - I suggested this to a Hundy sales exec last week and he nervously laughed in response.

Hello everyone, I just sold one of my cars with only 25,000km and although I am sad it is for a good cause, it is to finance my purchase of an i30n performance and reading and seeing that it is going to be restyling, after After reading the entire post I drew conclusions about the possible changes such as digital marker, noise reduction, removing the semi-baskets, etc. and I came to the conclusion of not waiting for the restyling because they are changes that I don't like and I prefer the current one.
What do you think of my reflection?
Greetings and happy new year

I would say, you would be better off with a slightly used FL. It depends on the availability in your country though. You could save some money as well as a long long waiting time for a new one. The current FL is dope. You will never regret!

Hi,

I just saw this online:

Hyundai i30 N and i20 N axed

Production of petrol-powered Hyundai N hot hatches has come to an end in Europe, with electric N models picking up the baton

source is from evo.co.uk. Do you know if it is a reliable source?

I am interested in buying an i30N and I was talking to. dealers here in Spain and they told me that as of June the brand had told them that a new i30N facelift was coming out, but now seeing this news... does anyone know anything else. thank you

One of the most highly regarded sources in UK.

Electric vehicles have their place, but so do petrol powered sports cars.

Australia just received the updated Sedan 24 but I haven’t heard much about the new hatch. A dealer told me that they received a bulletin recently that it will have minor updates. How true that is I’m not sure.

Selling of i20N and i30N will stop by end of 2024 in Europe. Acoordingly there will be no further facelifting in our region. Pretty sure.

I have been talking to dealers in Spain for two days and they all tell me the same thing. Production of the Hyundais i30N and i20N is ending, only a new facelift will be released for the i20 but models that are not N. At the moment they can be ordered but a dealer has already told me that the last shipment will be in May.

Today I will listen to the latest offer from a dealer and wherever it is cheaper I will go for it. I've been after this cook for three years and I hope I don't make a mistake with the purchase.

The sedan N still has another generation left in it here in Aus and the i30 hatch and i20 hatch are still for sale with the hatch getting a minor facelift.

I’m genuinely pleased for Australia (a bit jealous if I’m honest) that they are going to continue to get the N ICE cars but I’m also surprised given that it’s not a very large market - compared to Europe anyway? On the other hand, enthusiasm for the N cars is really strong in Aus so all strength to them 👍🤜🤛

The N culture and community here is incredible, but yeah the market is a bit smaller. My local city has a N car club that is very active and there was just an N track day near me with over 50+ Ns attending.

From memory (numbers could be off) from the article I read EU was selling 6000 a year and Aus was around 1000. I think the difference is the emissions regs and social acceptance of ICE cars in each jurisdiction.

From a selfish perspective I am slightly annoyed haha I ordered the N hatch about 1.5 years ago when all the media were saying this is it for them globally. I’ll be honest that because I had wanted an N for so long I felt like it was now or never. So I put an order in and 3 days later orders could no longer be placed due to too much demand. Here I was thinking I would get one of the very last N hatches ever made. Now with a new model coming Instead I got a car (FL1 hatch N) in early 2024 that hadn’t been updated since 2021 haha :( . It really does feel pretty dated inside compared to the sedan and it was a downgrade from my 2019 Nline interior wise. Not amazing when you just spent double the amount of money on a new car! I probably would have waited for the new N sedan which just dropped here and is readily available or even the new N hatch later in the year. I was told the sedan wouldn’t come till late 24 and the new hatch would probable be cancelled. Overall it is good news though!

In light of announcement from Hyundai that all i30n and i20n performance models are being discontinued for Europe - does that mean that the new facelifted model for 2024 which is now released in Australia will not be available in Spain etc. So will this result in remaining stock of current models only being available for purchase
