i20N wheel compatibility

I must admit to each their own, but aftermarket wheels, to me, always look like aftermarket wheels. Of course by definition they are, but aftermarket wheels just look like add ons. Ditto exhausts. Aftermarket exhausts sound like aftermarket exhausts, whereas, say, the stock N exhausts, for eg, sound fruity, but not aftermarket tatty.

I think it is all up to personal taste, as I myself can think of a few rims or exhaust setups that would look better than originals, but I get your point that for some it might take away this original look. No accounting for taste. I will, at first, stick to the OEM for daily, but just need extra rims for track use.

My idea is coming from fiesta sts two different versions, st2 and st3. st3 comes with 205/40/18 wheels and st2 with 205/45/17 wheels. St2 is comfier and you cant feel a lack in grip with the s2. So if ford believes that there is no problem with that, why not to use the same logic to our i20n? I think it will help exactly where the car lucks, and this is the stiffer suspension. With a 45 instead of 40 profile, car becomes more comfy, and this is exactly what we are looking for.

That will be interesting to read your thoughts once you try this out and see how it works on road/track. I was also thinking of 17" in the beginning but since I am not much experienced in this area I decided to go for something rather close to OEM. Also I think way easier to get some performance tires for 18".
I am however still waiting for my car to be delivered and I just started collecting all other bits before it arrives - therefore no chance for me to give it any test. Waiting for your report then;)

I bet it would work fine and it should be definitely a bit more comfortable using 17" for daily driving so I completely agree with you on this point. To me it makes sense especially since it will be a daily for my girlfriend more than myself even.
I hope to be able to say more once I do some testing on road and track myself when I finally get the car, as so far they just keep delaying it...

So those with 8x18 rims, what ET have you gone with. Would think something between 47 and 50 is ideal or am I wrong?

I'm interested to know this too. To be flush with the guards it looks like its 48ET for 18x7.5, so for 18x8 it would make sense for a 50ET to be flush ??

I just picked up my i20N a week ago but not a fan of the stock rims and looking at some JDM rims.

I have my eyes on these:
  • Work Wheels ZR10 Gloss Hyper Bronze with Cut Lip - 18x7.5 +47
  • Rays CE28SL Pressed Graphite - 18x8 +48
I measured a reasonable rim poke from OEM would be about up to 11mm.

That's right. Both wheels would be nice, it's up to you which one to choose

Recently sold my i30N to switch to i20N, and I still have my winter set, 18" Autec Wizards with some Michelin Pilot Sport All-Season tires, do you think they would fit on the i20N? I just saw an information sheet of the upcoming Pirelli P zeros, and thus it is confirmed that the i20N tires will be 215/40R18. My conversion basically would be 225/40 to 215/40 then.
Just recently put a set of ROH flow forged wheels on.
Fit perfectly using stock tyres lowered in H&R spring 30mm
18 x 8 40+

Hey everyone

I’ve read through this thread. Is it safe to say 18x7.5 ET45 will fit without an issue on factory tyres?

is it okay to use factory lug nuts too? I will probably go for Weds, Rays or Work wheels.

It will be more then safe to use the same tires as you are only changing the offset.

You can use the same lug nuts but rays, weds and works also have a tapered design for their lugs to keep the RIM centre. I would go for lock lug nuts jut for piece of mind, understand they are pricy but people are gonna take them if they really want your RIMs but make them work for it. Unfortunately my mate had their RIMs stolen but was using the factory lug nuts and invested in lock lug nuts since then.

Also look for ring hub if you haven't already as Rays bore is 73.1mm and Works are 73.3mm which the Hyundai bore is 67.1mm.

OZ Formula HLT in grigio corsa for a PB car, yay or nay? Is there any colour other than black/graphite that will fit?

Fairly interesting mail I got from my dealer. They are offering winter sets that are 215/45R17 and 225/40R18, and none are 215/40R18. So pretty sure 17" fits.
