Mate that 1999 STI was my dream car back then, it’s legendary, I was just too young to afford one unfortunately, it still looks beautiful today, I can understand why you had it so long, I’m not sure I could sell it if were mine?Yeh I don’t like engineering that has hidden traits.
my last car was my 20 year old 1999 sti 2 door coupe.
I owned it for 20 years, rpm went up and came down as required, no system run aways there
Stunning car mateYeh it was hard to sell but I got 3xtimes the amount I bought for
still in mourning the street prescience
Mate you should of given me a shout, I would of swapped you my Fiesta for it, I’m sure you would of bitten my arm off?Yeh like a family member my 2 boys grew up being picked up from school etc, it only had 70,000 km on it was my Sunday wash and drive only
I am close to retirement soon cashed in.
I do regret it, it was a beast stuck to the road like gum
Your ST + 100kMate you should of given me a shout, I would of swapped you my Fiesta for it, I’m sure you would of bitten my arm off?![]()
Nice mate, RS7 audiYour ST + 100k
somebody offered swap RS7 Audi
lots of interest
I was waiting for the release of the i20N in Australia i30N to big for my run around shops, etc
Yeh I had a feeling my offer would of fell rather short lol, I bet you must of had some huge offers? It’s a shame Subaru don’t make them like that anymore, the new model with that plastic cladding around the wheel arches looks horrendous, what the hell were they thinking with that?Your ST + 100k

HiNice mate, RS7 audi
How do you find the i20N?
I'm having heaps of fun in mine, and can't see a use case for a faster car on the street, unless you don't mind breaking the law everytime you accelerate.
I used to own a 2017 RS3 and this thing is nowhere near as fast, but it's definitely a lot more fun on corners.
Nice one, the perfect car. A tray big enough to hold 2 slabs of stubbies. All the space you needThis was the wife’s car
Sorry mate but this is a ridiculous post, do you have any proof that European company’s are getting a free pass on emissions standards? If that’s the case then why did they throw the book at VW? Lots of European cars have been delayed in the last few yrs because they’re trying to comply with these standards, and Ford is an American company not Euro, so are Americans exempt as well? And if the Fiesta STs engine only passed because it was a few yrs ago, then why has the same engine in the new MK8.5 complied with these new standards? and it’s actually got more power than before as well, sorry I’m just not buying yr conspiracy theory? I seriously doubt Korean cars are being singled out..
So if Ford only gives you a 2 or 3 year warranty max? Then why is mine 5yrs then? Yr talking what if’s and hypotheticals again, nobody knows how long either engine is going to last?.. ‘For those who know?’ Well you don’t know much lol, you need to lay off the Ouzo dude..For those who know. Is fiesta st engine better? By no means no!
Ford just uses more boost to the engine, so as to be fast, while hyundai, keeps boost middle, so as to ensure long term reliability. Thats why hyundai gives 5 years warranty, even if you use the i20n on track, while ford gives only 2 or 3 years max but you have the option to buy extra warranty time using ford protect.
The video of the ford, shows the new fords engine, which produces 320nm of torgue, and boost from 1.5 to 1.2 bars while hyundai stays from 1.1 to 0.8 (mainly 1 bar boost pressure). if hyundai adds 0.3 boosts of pressure it will exceed 230 hp and 350nm for sure. Thats how racechip, increases power to 235 hp and torgue to 350nm.
Enjoy
Ford don't give a 5 year warranty in the EU, unless of course you pay for an extended one.So if Ford only gives you a 2 or 3 year warranty max? Then why is mine 5yrs then? I know, but some countries outside the EU like here in Oz it’s 5yrs, it’s just a pointless argument anyway mateFord don't give a 5 year warranty in the EU, unless of course you pay for an extended one.
Yeah of course, I mean Ford has been a favourite brand in Aus for a very long time so not surprised they look after their Aussie customers. Pointless preaching to the choir about Hyundais being worse than Fords on an N cars forum too though!I know, but some countries outside the EU like here in Oz it’s 5yrs, it’s just a pointless argument anyway mate![]()
Im not preaching anything here, I’m just trying to understand what he’s saying? He’s talking about things I’ve never heard of? I’d be happy to believe him if starts showing some proof that’s all? How does he know the Hyundai’s engine is what it is so it increases its longevity? Where’s that written? How does he know it’ll outlast the Fords engine? If he’s happy with the engine he’s got then what’s he worried about? It’s just bizarreYeah of course, I mean Ford has been a favourite brand in Aus for a very long time so not surprised they look after their Aussie customers.
