i20N - Reviews, General Discussion & Info

Must admit that the red with the black roof is the first one that I've thought looks half decent to me (no disrespect intended to anyone that likes any of the other colours). Tend to agree with some, that the roof spoiler looks a bit OTT.

By the time I'm ready for a change at the back end of next year, availability might be better. TBC

@drendydoo I didn't see an option yet to get a different speedo for the N-mode (1 or 2). There are 4 speedos, one for each (eco, normal, sport, N-mode).
Does the N mode speedo allow to cycle through different display modes (like nav information, trip infortmation, ...) or is it stuck with temps etc.?

Also, maybe there's some people out there that can tell us how well it is for longer trips on the highway. Such as noise level, suspension, ... compared to the i30N.

Thank you for these first hand impressions. It's really great to hear from someone with actual experience of daily living with the car.

Suspension i would say i30N is a bit stiffer on normal than the i20N is. The i20N would be somewhere between comfort and normal in the i30N. At 200kph the i20N seems a bit quieter to me with less Wind noises (but compared to pre facelift).

Where's the "comfort" setting on the I30N suspension? I've only got Normal, Sport and Sport+ :)

I'm in the september - october club too, is 3 months a normal delivery time?

it is when they build your car yes to order. most are built in batches, then there is Covid19 H&S issues in the factory too and then shipping not just your car but shipping all cars built to order in the same area/region.

And regarding the sound, is it better than FiST?

My local Hyundai dealer ( UK based ) reckons he wont have a demonstrator i20N vehicle until late August / early September when the first UK deliveries are due.

0w20, LOL. Do they think we're naive? Maybe it's good for the manufacturer to pay less ecological tribute, but certainly not for the engine.

I'm sorry but the conclusion of being "certainly not good for the engine" is based on what ?

The manufacturer is the one who designed the specific engine to operate at best with specific grade of oil and the only one who did longevity tests with specific grade, in order to give the multi-years warranty. Anything else might be 'ok' but is a compromise to start with and the only way someone to prove that is as good (or better) will be after several years with equivalent amount of klm/miles on the clock in similar conditions.

The only exception to that is frequent track use , mainly in motorsports events which anyway renders the car our of warranty.
