I did see a couple of comments on the Fiesta ST forum that Ford had hiked the prices prior to Brexit, in case of a "no deal exit", which subsequently did not happen. But decided to leave the price/s as they were. Not sure if this is true or not, but sounds believable.

I think myself that the I20N in the UK needs to be around the £25/26k at most. If it's fully spec'd like the I30N (colour being the only extra) then that could be a "reasonable" deal. Then it would come down to how well it drives and the deals available (IE. discounts / PCP etc).

Can't see we will have long to wait to find out. Initial reports seem to imply the I20N will be a good steer.

We live in interesting times (indeed). TBC..............

PS. Cars have pretty much always been a rip off in the Uk compared to a lot of other countries. Manufacturers seem to think we are used to not only bending over, but supplying our own Vaseline o_O

Story I've seen is that with the demise of Bridgend last year, the 1.5 is not built at any other European (EU or country with whom they have a trade deal, such as UK) plant so now attracts duties. Ford have quietly dropped it from the Focus leaving the Fiesta ST as the sole vehicle sold in UK with this engine. They might have had some stock which has now been used up, hence the recent price rise.

Fucking hell this car is going to be more expenssive then i tought, i think too much for the car in question imo, i hoep is a little bit less expenssive for spain, there is no info on their website yet.
 
I have no idea what the price will mean in my country. Time will tell :)
To me it seems some equipment is missing from the list of 'standard equipmen'. At least I hope so.
E.g. https://www.hyundai.com/eu/models/i20-n.html mention 'Forward collision avoidance' but this is not on the list. It really true (and I doubt that) it will get a pretty bad NCAP-rating not having what is now a pretty basic security feature.

Assuming the data is true CO2 pr KM is same as Fiesta ST (158g/km in WLTP-norm).That is important info for me as it will influence the purchase price and yearly tax.158g CO2 is ok.
 
Thought I would go for the i30n but as same People wrote, the taxes are more expensive (300 euro/ year in Germany) and I guess the i30 will be around 8 - 10 k more expensive than the i20n.
I also like the Interior more at the 20, I guess I will go for it. Asked one car store, they said that they think, that they can order the car around mid March.

That price isn’t accurate surely? Converted into Aussie $$ that’s 50k! That’s more than I paid for my i30N two years ago, what an obscene rip off if that’s the price in Europe, my ST is looking like a total bargain hearing these sorts of crazy prices..

Yeh it’s hard to believe that price, maybe it is the taxes that pushes the price up? we don’t get hammered like that with taxes in Oz, so I’d expect it to be the same price as the ST, maybe even more considering it’s a newer car?
 
I don't think you can translate the prices directly. I have tried searching a little. It seems the "old" 2017-2018 i30n performance was around 39-40.000 eur in Austria. I think it might end up being a little more expensive than fiesta St but definitely not same price as i30n. If so they will sell zero here. In particular as Gr Yaris is also available for those want to pay more than fiesta St prices for a sub compact. It will be bad price policy and cause very few sales.
 
In Poland Fiesta ST with ST2 trim (cheapest) starts from 20,250 EUR. In Poland we have 23% VAT and 3.1% import tax.

That’s sounds about right, but those taxes seem pretty high tho? I got an ST3 for 36k Aussie$$, which is about 23k Euro, that’s why I find it hard to believe that the i20N is 32k euro, that’s madness if true..
 
Taxes were included in the price ofc. Yes, they are high but it seems that western countries have even bigger ones. Especially some eco bullshit taxes which in Poland is just 100 EUR flat fee.

BTW In Poland we have 19% import tax for cars with engines bigger than 2L. This is something that really pisses me off. This was done almost 30 years ago to protect local shitty cars like fiat 125 /126 or Polonez. Then they started bullshitting that this is eco friendly tax when no one cared about climate. For me it means that even thinking about bmw 340i is a far cry when for germans with higher salaries its just a bit more expensive than 330i :/

Fully spec'd 5 door ST-3 in Performance Blue comes to just over £28k (and 1k of that is for the Pano roof option) in UK but expect pretty hefty dicounts from Ford dealers here so more like £25k. If Hyundai can't match or undercut the ST in the UK they are gonna really struggle.

I very recently talked to my local dealer. Not a heap of new information but nice nonetheless. The first cars have now left the factory. Nothing official on price yet but it’s strongly anticipated to (roughly) match Fiesta ST and polo GTI. I think it is quite unlikely the price will differ significantly to those two.
 
Then I guess they have their work cut out for them. One of the things that made the I30N so successful was it being quite a bit cheaper than the comparable competition. The Fiesta and the Polo are the benchmarks in the class even though it's for different reasons.

I find it unlikely it can match the Polo in terms of feeling "premium" so in terms of driving dynamics it has to deliver and the Fiesta ST is no slouch in that regard.

The upcoming comparison tests will be interesting. Whenever they are of course.
