I20N Exhaust Valve

I poked a thin allen key (could use screwdriver) through the top of the vent and managed to unplug the vibration generator in a matter of seconds - i slid the connector apart but left it together (if you understand?) - this way i didn't have to remove the wiper arms and risk breaking any clips on the scuttle panel just to get some tape on the exposed connector ends :)
Yeah I did think about doing this, however I want to be able to get in there and plug it back in if I need to. Bit harder to do that with an Allen key :p

As it's just slid along the connector (unplugged) and not totally disconnected i can poke the allen key through and push it back together ;)

Do you think you could send a photo??

What are you doing about protecting that loose connection from water?

anyone got a video or a photo of them disconnecting the sound generator would be really helpful :)
How To thread here with pics and videos. It is for the i30N however the process is essentially the same:

You don't need to buy anything to leave the exhaust valve open and make a lot of noise, and you don't need any mechanical knowledge either!

Open the bonnet, start the engine, switch to "N" mode, open the fuse box, remove the fuse shown in the picture:

No risk, this fuse only supplies the exhaust valve, no error on the dashboard etc...

Moreover it is clearly indicated in the owner's manual (where I took the pictures above) page 9-54 and 9-57.

When you get tired of making a racket, put the fuse back in and everything goes back to normal.

Yeah this is probably a better option, I paid for the exhaust adaptor button thing and it's nice as a convenience thing but fuse is probably better if you plan on having it open most of the time.

My mum just isn't a fan of the noise so I have the button so she doesn't complain when I go and see her like today with it being mother's day I have to do all the driving 😂

Does removing the fuse change the behaviour of the valve or the sound in N mode (with the exhaust setting on max)?
Yea, if you remove the fuse the valve does not move at all, it will always stay open. So in N mode it will be abit louder than with the valve operating, and will be louder on idle

It fluctuates all the time to control noise, drone etc. Probs other reasons also. If you unplug it it stays in whatever position you unplugged it in. So if you unplug it whilst its open it will stay like that. (Unless they have changed the valve system since the i30N) I had mine 100% open all the time on the i30N
How do I unplug that cable? Is there a notch to press?

If i remove the fuse wont i get trouble from police cuse the car is louder ?
And i i get the flap controller and turn it off will the valve stay fully closed even when i put the car in N mode or will it be back to normal?

Removal keeps the flap shut, whatever you do.
