Engine I Finally found the oil temperature PID!

So I tried this today, and unfortunately it doesn't look like things quite align for me. I will mention that I am driving a 2022 Veloster N, Canadian edition (no TPMS, has heated seats and steering).

The infotainment screen will tell me 90-91C, but the reading in Torque with this formula using mode 22, PID E001 will return a value of 88.7C using AI*0.7435-49.2. It does seem to move relative to the oil temps, but the offset looks familiar. I will need to re-test with my aeroforce gauge and see if I get a similar reading just for comparison sakes.
Different model to our i30Ns…so that could be the issue for sure. It is especially weird as all equations before mine give Higher temps than the cluster, not lower like you see in your veloster

Thats exactly what I was planning on doing! However I got so many projects running I can't keep up with them :p
It's the only way to be sure the cluster is correct and not a drama queen.

Anyhow, I am very pleased to see people are actually using my discoverd PID :D

Welp hopefully in about a week or so I'll have an answer for this. I'm working this weekend to get my Mishimoto sandwich plate installed + oil temp sensor and then I'll bet a the track on July 21st, so hopefully by next weekend I'll have some more information, including ideally getting values for the higher oil temps from the OBD2 PID.
 
There is another way of doing this. The Hyundai service manual has a spreadsheet of Ohms vs temperature for the oil temp sensor.
So you can simulate the sensor using a potmeter (this is the way I found the pid by simulating different temps). I have lost this spreadsheet... Will need to dig in to my files

Boost pressure is a standardised parameter. Select "manifold pressure" in the fast channels ;)

Nice Render you got there.

I need to check next weekend the parameters that you can set with the App. I just used it for Timetracking.

But I assume that the standardised parameter of the Boost Pressure will just get the standard Boost Pressure the N has like 1.1 bar. I doubt it that it can read my 1.8bar.
 
Relative or absolute manifold pressure? My video shows absolute pressure (atmosferic included).

I am looking for ABS activation and Brake line pressure. Not sure how you found the oil temp, but maybe you could let me know how I can find these parameters on my own. Thanks
 
You must use an OBD2 reader and poll to get data feedback from menus you think have this info.
There is more data in menu 22 to be determined. The easiest way to sniff around would be the torque app and the torquescan plugin.

scan menu 22
push the brake
look for data that has changed
repeat until successfull
 
just something to keep in mind: I know the ABS-related data is definitely being sent over the engine-can (c-can), for brake pressure I have not looked in detail yet.

It can likely be the case that it will not be sufficient to go through the diagnostic-can (obd / d-can) simply because the data is not being sent/received on that canbus but on a different one.

Yesterday i tried to get the PID running on my Racechrono app, didnt worked. After typing the PID in and accepting it, the numbers change.

Can someone help me on that? :)

Found it! However the temps we are chasing for are not described :p And most possible it is not a lineair line

The resistance is meaningless for using an obd2 reader. You need the value of the AI readout. The resistance may be non-linear with temp, but that could be converted to linear in the AI readout. It’s totally unsurprising that resistance isn’t linear with temp. H would know this and then covert the resistance to a linear AI readout.

Not sure about the equation for this one but it's looking at the "R" token for data and mapping it based on custom logic

These didn't work on my Elantra but might be worth giving them a try for your model
