How To: Headunit firmware & GPS navigation maps update

Hello,

I am collecting soft+maps on my homepage, but can't find soft+maps from 2019.
Do you have those by any chance and could you share them?

2021 is cool with the upgrades, but providing address is a bit confusing now, as it was faster in 2019,.

Also: is there a way to copy Software from the car to the SD card, using keyboard?

there are multiple 2019 versions available.
AFAIK you will not be able to just download the firmware from the navigation system itself - at least not without proper tooling.

You can search through here and try to find the version you are looking for:

Good idea with the homepage. I like what you've done. @Bu11eT is correct regarding extracting the software from the radio, you'd need developer tools to do that. I used to have all the versions going back to the beginning but they used a lot of server space so I got rid of everything bar 2020-2 and 2021-1.2

BTW when you update the sotware can you chose the language? In my case in would be hungarian.
An ohter quastion: is the date af map the part of numbers: Its looks vers strange for me...

All the software posted here is for the I30N models which use different software and maps to the rest of the Hyundai and Kia family. You need the maps for LGE type. Try the German forums. Bolidenforum.de
I see. May be the update should be done by my official Hyundai dealer in Hungary. It is 2 years old car.
Thanks for halp to you and others.

Full details are

Software
PDEN.EUR.SOP.V120.201203.STD_M
FIRMWARE
PDEN.EUR.293.201013.MICOM.DL
NAVAPP
STD5M.EUR.HMC.210506{D.I3}
MAP
EUR.14.41.42.453.201.5{D.I3}

The Software is here

The Map is here, this is the May update one

For those who haven't done this before here's the method

Use a fat32 freshly formatted 32Gb SD Card

download the software first, extract the contents into a folder and then copy to the FRESHLY formatted SDCard

Go to the car, start engine and disable stop start, you MUST leave the enginge running throughout, remove existing SDCARD, insert new one and the update will start automatically, let it run all the way through, it takes about 20 mins.

When it has finished take the original SDCard to your PC, download the MAP and extract the contents to a folder, format the SDcard to Fat32, then copy the contents of the folder to the card.

Go to car and swap cards, give it a minute to recognise the new map and you're done.

Everyone who has had issues doing this has neglected to format the cards first. Try to use a PC not a MAC asMac's have issues copying all the files.

What he said ! Works like a charm. 😊

Few points
Pay attention to the maps part, as Jim said once you unzip you get a one folder and you need to copy the contents of that folder (4 folders + 2 files) in the SD card directly. If you extract directly into the SD card, you will get that one folder and it will not work.
For the ones who might compare file by file with their existing maps card, there are differences but the end result is that it works , so no concerns there :)

Hi all
I've got a question on the sat nav search feature and wondering if there is a fix.
I needed to go to an address about 4 miles away and tried postcode - nothing, street name - nothing. Used Google in the end. Got to the address and the map had the housing estate so I tried from the location and it was there!
Looks like my software only searches locally which is pretty pointless! I can see an option to search from town/area. Is there a way to do UK wide search by default?
Any info appreciated

I just put in the postcode and haven't had any problems.

Yeah before the latest update I was doing this and it was fine. The postcode worked if I was within 2/3 miles of the destination because I tried when I was there. On the left was 2 options - near my location and another. Seems mine is defaulting to near my location.
Jim - if you have a minute can you do a postcode search for SA6 8QL (Swansea Hyundai) and see if it comes up OK & do you have the near my location option or near town...?

I don't understand why I have different - do you do a full reset after you update? I haven't...

If you could that would be great

Paul
