Its not until car gets warm that it makes the noise which is a creaking sound through the steering which can only be heared at low speed and when you go over uneven road or speed bumps. Can be heared when turning in to drive way.

Hyundai Dealer said it been a fault on all i30Ns which I can't really see as it would have been mentioned on here by now.

I'm having the same issue with that noise you describe. I have spoken to dealer and showed them at the 1500km service. They agreed it wasn't normal and said they need the car back for a day to pull it apart. They weren't worried about safety or anything. I just need to find time to take it back in.
 
Hi folks,

If anyone has the car in pieces could you please post a picture of the standard FRONT brake pads? Most importantly the numbers on the pads.

I’ve just got a new set for the car and they have been lying around a while. My concern is that they are physically the same size thus correct for the caliper but possibly not the same compound as the pad currently on the car.

Mr Biermann said the brakes were from an existing model within the range (probably Santa Fe) but I feel the pads may be a different compound to the ones we have in the N.

I would and will check my own but they have seen some serious temperatures so I’ve little hope of there being any legible literature remaining.

Bit late responding to this but that is the part number on the pads I got from Hyundai.

Still not convinced they will be the right compound but until I get numbers from an actual pad fitted to an i30N I’ll never know.
 
I have mailed Pagid for part nrs :p
I am also interested but not at that price.

I will reply when I know something more

So, it seems the pads are manufactured by TMDfriction.
I have emailed to Pagid and got a reply from TMDfriction.

The pads are not for sale outside of the Hyundai dealer network. They can only be purchased by visiting your dealer.

Front S7034L02001
Rear S7035L02001

So I'm guessing they will be the same price as the link above.

So, as Hyundai own Kia and they share a lot of common components I was thinking...

What’s the probability of the brembo’s from the stinger fitting the i30N?

Anyone know already or is this worth having a look at?
 
TCR ones could be interesting..:

Front: Pagid Shape No. 8087 racing brake pads with Brembo 07.7293. 6 piston [type 164 or B24 family] calipers (380mm).

Rear: Pagid Shape No. 4304 racing brake pads with Brembo 07.1715. [type 62 family] calipers (278mm).

Stinger is too new, that's why I'd rather have a closer look at Brembo brakes from Genesis coupe ;)

The Bolt flange for the caliper to the hub is 10mm different in width so the Genisis G70 or the stinger Brembos wont bolt up, the offset of the disc will also need to be changed to tuck the caliper in so as to fit the standard wheels or a dished wheel would be needed.
I havent had a set of Genesis Coupe calipers to test.

Had this sound for few mornings now.. When start the car -4celsius, and started to move it. i can hear bit hydraulic squeaking noise when turning steering wheel. Sound is kinda loud and i can hear it clearly to inside of the car. Should i be worried?
 
Not sure if that is the case, but on many cars with hydraulic steering, if you lock the wheel on maximum turn the hydraulic pump is struggling, I suppose even more so on cold hydraulic fluid. I'd say it's not unusual that this happens, but should be avoided. Is the sound occuring on any turn of the wheel or at max turn wheel lock?
