Black Hyundai Badges

I remember way back one member on here had a go at me for stating why are punters spending 90 euro on these flimsy plastic H emblem covers, they must of had something to do with the seller of these H emblems as they were defending the H emblems, to me they just seemed like a total rip off and if I was ever going to turn my H emblems black I would spray paint them and that is what I ended up doing well thank god I did not buy into these emblem covers as a well-known moderator is on his 3rd set already now I see he will be painting his H emblems the next time the moulded emblems he purchased start to melt in the heat of the sun, seems to have been a total waste of money for you lot reading this post.

Better to do what I did spray them and use full dip it can withstand 250 c so no chance of the full dip melting. Am I ever glad I did not buy into those flimsy emblem covers as they have failed miserably and the price for what they are is out of orbit.

Pictures attached of my H emblems sprayed with Full dip. Applied a glossifier afterwards for permanent protection also used a palsti dip primer for a permanent adhesion no peeling cracking flacking or lifting.

I ended up painting the exhaust tips chameleon and they turned out a fantastic.

Do it right first time and forget it. Pictures below showing different stages of painting.

Has anyone had a go at pre-ordering these from the German Hyundai accessories website?

They seem perfect, but i'm just not sure how easy to remove the silver badges are. Has anyone had a go at taking both the front and back ones off?

The front and back emblems you will have to remove the front bumper and the rear from the boot as both are attached with nuts and bolts.

Strange that, as tech guy at service desk told me it was retained by bolts. So I painted it in situ and could not be bothered removing everything.

Just shows what the tech guys at Hyuandi know. Sweet FA.

@loafer-N77 Thank you for clearing that up for me as personally I did not know for sure so was not going to argue I ddi take the back plastic cover off the back boot when I saw those bolts and all that wiring I thought! Know what better leave all that alone and just paint the H logo in situ so that is what I ended up doing.

Brings clarity to
this whole situation involving the front and back emblems. Thank you again much appreciated clearing that one up.

No the rear is retained in the bodywork with fixings I believe within the rear cam assembly. @Who! Me. You are correct.

But you can take off part 86300A easy. It is glued to the other parts with tape. I ordered a new one and painted that one black. New one comes with double sided tape on the back, so for the back one you don't need to unscrew anything. For the front one the bumper needs to come off.

My bad then!
I thought it was held from the back:

Ignore me. Just rip em off as normal then

Anyone tried HyperDip on the badges?
Yes, done that on the front and rear badges, some gloss dip (not the Hyperdip actually, a different brand).
They looked ok, but not as glossy as I expected, you have to go in really really thin layers with the gloss dip as opposed to the matte finish as you get uneven runny spots really easily.
As the ebay badge covers were available, I just got those.

Anybody knows where I can get black badge and N badge covers for my fastback? prefered in europe.
Hope somebody can help me, cheers.

Just noticed the black badges are in stock now at:

https://hyundaizubehoer.de

and they are full replacement badges, not covers! Check out the instruction .pdf (in German)

Bit of work to remove the old ones but these should be waaaay better then the crappy covers. The price also makes a mockery of what (most of us) paid on eBay for the flimsy covers.

Edit: for the hatch anyway, Fastback set is quite a bit more.....

Just got these in from a company called Paracarbon. Real carbon badges. The quality is great I’m really impressed.
Now from what I understand you can pull the back badge off and replace. Front badge I know the bumper has to be removed so I shall update when I get around to taking it into a garage to have them fitted. Really can’t be bothered to go through the hassle myself. I’ll upload pics once the back is on - soon. I had a quick go at removing the back badge earlier with some dental floss and a credit card to wedge open a gap but it was REALLY stuck on there. Will give it a go tomorrow when it’s light outside. B153BB32-27E3-4819-AD35-E18319564C45.jpeg
