Automatic shifts weird

I drive the i30n fastback facelift. It bothers me that the car downshifts very early in high gears when braking. Sometimes with 70 in 4 and then the car growls loudly and the gas vibrates. Is that normal? or can it be adjusted?

Ich fahre den i30n fastback facelift. Mich stört es das das Auto in hohen Gängen beim bremsen sehr früh runterschaltet. Teilweise mit 70 in 4 und dann brummt das Auto laut auf und das Gas vibriert. Ist das normal? oder kann man das anpassen lassen?

It depends what mode you are in, you shouldn’t get this in normal mode, but it is normal in Sports and N mode.

On inclines / declines I also notice that in my opinion it unnecessarily early and aggressively downshifts the gears while driving in Normal Mode. I'm pretty annoyed by it but it can probably not be changed?

Bei Steigungen/Senkungen bemerke ich das auch dass aus meiner Sicht unnötig früh und agressiv die Gänge runtergeschalten werden, auch im Normal Modus. Mich nervts aber kann man wohl nicht ändern?

Mine does that on declines, can be annoying.

The car should do this on declines to engage the engine brake so you don't wear out the brakes driving downhill.
Thats completely normal. The first five minutes of my daily drive is downhill, I usually drive it in manual mode. But only because I do not need the engine brake to engage as often as the car would do it.
