Half is already something more reasonable, because it does not stop being a piece of plastic. But € 250-300 seems crazy to me
You've got to remember you're paying for the development of a low volume part, they aren't going to sell thousands of these because there aren't that many I30N owners, let alone ones who will modify their cars, so they need to recoup their money by a high price!
I understand and respect him, I just give my opinion. It is not a switchboard that carries hardware and programming. It is a piece printed with a 3d printer, I do not think it has such a large expense since it is printed, it is not a mold.
When you really want to sell a product you put a good price. If you put it expensive is when you are not going to sell anything. I do not intend to offend anyone, respect and admire the project, I simply see it as expensive.
Yeah I'm on the fence about the price too. 3D printers should have drove down prices of R&D prices due to plastic designs being so easily made now but we're still being charged quite a lot for small pieces.
I don't think ITG will be selling many maxogen intakes when IFX are selling a complete full intake for cheaper.
I don't like the price for the snorkel, I'm going to wait...
Sadly the regulations in Germany won't let me buy the ITG or IFX intakes...I'll go my own route. Gruppenzwang just brought out turbo intakes so I think I'm going turbo intake to airpipe to the box and put either an ITG or Pipercross filter in the box. It is a bit more expensive but I will be within the regulations. This won't void any of the warranty either.

Great plan! Weirdly I always thought this would impact the warranty. From where did you get the information? (Not denying, just curious, maybe I will do smth similar as well now
)Aftermarket air filters (only filter, not boxes etc) do not void the warranty in germany as far as i know, the turbo inlet most certainly will. I would like it to be wrong in that case though, so just provide whatever info you have @JAYtheVET
Filter and pipe will not void the warranty, per Hyundai (This is in the warranty info). The turbo inlet will and I might wait to install it.

I was going off of this but apparently I can't read. If the dealer ok's it and you get it in writing you're good. The problem is finding a dealer to do so. Hyundai approves the Remus exhaust in Germany from what I have heard and won't bitch about the filter but for everything else we're shit outta luck. Even in the 2020 warranty manual lots of changes have been made. Basically nothing is allowed on 2020 and after vehicles.

See no reason why that should void the warranty, after all it's just the connection to the airpipe that changes. As long as the blowoff/recirculation hoses are connected to have the same function I see no reason why that should change warranty terms. The only way I see how it would impact warranty is that if it isn't properly/incorrectly mounted to the Turbo.

If you modified anything and afterwards try to claim warranty because of a damage, the issue - as always - will be, Hyundai might claim the new part caused the damage and therefore they won’t cover it. Than it’s up to you to prove the opposite (in court eventually) which you may or may not can but anyway it will be a pain in the *** to do so.

True. Then again, if something happened to my car after I'd installed such a mod, the first thing after talking to Hyundai would probably be to go to the TÜV or some independent mechanic shop and let them figure it out - if the issue was caused by the part (for example by it breaking) then go after the manufacturer, if there's any warranty on it. Otherwise either pay it out of my own pocket or go after Hyundai for making a false diagnosis.

K&N in SoCal are looking for a Veloster N to use for intake development. Which means once the filter is developed, tested and made for the Veloster N, it will also fit the i30N.
At some point, the guys in Sydney may also want an i30N to test fitment. Chance for a new free K&N filter when they are available. Put your name in if you are interested...
