Interior Adjustable seat belt retractor plastic cover rattle / noise from B-pillar

Not 100% sure if the sound changed a bit, but I can certainly still hear it. Was too rainy today to be sure tho...

Ok, think I found the issue. I marked it with a red arrow on the pic below.
If you remove the door rubber trim around that area, you can slightly pull down the head lining (dont pull too hard, as it is locked in place by the airbag cover). There is a cable-channel wrapped in some kind of fabric that sits in a plastic U-formed cable clip.
What I did was to just move around the cable-channel a bit and now the annoying sound is only audible if you have really good ears ;)

If I find time, I am gonna wrap the fabric of the cable-channel in some other insulating material. My guess is, that the cable-channel is touching the plastic cable clip which results in that annoying sound.
If I remind myself during that fix, I may take some pictures to better explain the issue. However it should be a 5-min fix as its not really much work.

looked for the worse road I could find nearby and just kept on pressing down on different spots. After I found the spot I just investigated further. These things happen when you're bored 😄
I think you have to get bored more frequently my friend!😁

I had the rattle once or twice when mine was new but at nearly 20.000 miles and after some passenger use of the seatbelt all is well..

Ok so I now finally fixed it.

Here's what I did:

1. Open the driver's side door and remove the upper part of the rubber trim like on the picture below:

2. If you now pull the fabric of the headlining down just a tiny bit (don't pull too hard as it is hold in place with the airbag cover) you will see a white fabric, that is used to organize a few cables as well as a black clamp that is used to secure it. See below picture for clarification:

3. Get a piece of rubber as shown below:

4. Place it between the clamp and the door trim/headlining like on this picture below.

5. Profit!

Just wanted to let you guys know that I didn't abandon my thread :) It's just as the weather got warmer a lot of noise disappeared before I could actually find/fix them. This included.... and now I even run on 18" instead of 19", so they might never come back. Winter will tell :D

Hello,

I have this rattle also, can you please tell me if you solved it?
Many thanks
Mea culpa if this has been mentioned already, but I couldn't find it.

So my problem is that when I'm on just a slightly bumpy road - which matches many streets around already - even in Normal mode, I can hear a rattle coming from my B-pillar from the seat belt retractor (see attached image).

If I try to move it without releasing the lock I can feel some wiggle. IMO that is what I'm hearing moving around on bumpier roads.

Is this normal/the same for everybody, or do I have a specific issue?

I have a FL with the same annoying rattle 😠
I followed BU11ET's pic tutorial (Thanks) but I don't think my rattle is coming from there, I'm convinced it's coming from within the seat belt mechanism. I have booked the car in at my dealers in the hope they can fix it, fingers crossed🤞
