Gearbox 3500 miles in - Gear 2, 4 and 6 got stiffer..

Called Hyundai Finance today and logged the complaint, they said a representative will contact me within 10 working days to go over everything before taking it to the dealer. The whole rejection process can take up to 8 weeks depending on circumstances, wow!

After that call I went to the dealer and asked if I can drop the car off today rather than next week so they can fit the cable adjustment job in-between jobs if possible, I don't really want to be another week without a car that I am paying for... They were thankfully accomodating and said they will do their best to try and get it done asap.

So the wait begins

On another note, I had an Audi RS3 (8V) Saloon fly past me today on some back roads, oh my days that thing sounds immense! Safe to say I shall be occupied with reading owner's builds and autotrader tonight :D

The RS3 with the 5 cylinder that is utilized in the TTRS is a dynamic performer and an extremely durable engine.

Oh, unless you're in good with the local Audi Dealership, you don't touch the car at all. Audi is death on messing with the car. They can be very expensive to repair, when you don't have a warranty intact.

Just drive it and enjoy.

At first also thought about getting an RS3, hell it would've even been in my budget without any options. While I love the sound of that turbo 5 and AWD i really didn't want to spend ~30k on a good base RS3 since repair costs are quite high, and a properly specced one would've cost me 60k-90k

TTRS is a far better drivers car than the RS3.

If you are serious about one iiNNex I'd look at their service costs hard because the local Audi dealer charges £180 per hour labour. Then top it off with 23mpg

Not so sure about that. The chassis and suspension are nearly the same. When we drove the RS3 compared to the TTRS, there just wasn't much difference in handling and straight line performance. The obvious differences is 4 door vs 2 door and the RS3 came with manual seats and no options for power.

3593 lbs RS3
3296 lbs TTRS

We averaged around 33 per gallon with the 2.5 5 cylinder engine as long as you kept your foot out of it. That was a challenge most of the time and fuel economy would drop to around 27 mpg.

I didn't say they were inexpensive to maintain. :) You buy new and spend the extra for the service options up front.

Just exloring different avenues mate, nothing set in stone yet. Not till the N goes back and my money is in the bank.

So many choices out there when you only have a budget limit and not other constraints like "must have 4 seats" or big boot or good mpg ect..

By the way I am not looking at new cars, the RS3 examples in the 35-40k market are extremely well spec'd, 2018 and have no crappy OPF/GPF. That said, that's some 30-35k depreciation in a year and a half :O

@iiNNEX maybe your car has no problems with the gearbox though? I am sure you need to "put the clutch in"

everyone forgive me. I am on a roll in a desperate need of holidays, just one more day to stick it out before going completely mad

alright, I need to go and have a good conversation with my manager about bonus in the upcoming January :D

and got to post a new thread in the "market place" section

also, don't go repeating after this guy
How about the driver's presence of mind activating the wipers the moment he grabbed air, like he knew he'd have to clear the paddock off the screen imminently?! Wonder if he got the hazard lights on before he crumped in too? :D

Last one this is killing me! I need to buy another TTRS!!:p These Audi S-1 Quattro 5 cylinders had so much horsepower and were so fast, they had to eventually stop the Group B Class! The WRC Cars now, pale in comparison.
I've been fortunate enough to own an 8P RS3 and an 8J TTRS. That engine is one of my all-time favourites. I got rid of the RS3 because it was out of warranty and the repair costs made me want to cry. I couldn't resist the engine so I got the TTRS a while later. I eventually sold it for exactly the same reason.
