Exhaust- / Sound Discussion

Has anyone had a decrease in burbles and low down pops (after releasing throttle quickly at like 2-2.5k rpm) in hot weather like around 30-40 degrees C. I've had res delete done a few thousand k's ago but the car doesn't sound as loud as when it was when the res delete was first done.

Hi I have my hyundai i30 n performance recently bought brand new only done 69 miles on the clock. I'm wondering when my hyundai i30 n performance is in idle mode just parked up and I put it into sport plus rev matching on i get the pops and bangs from exhaust but when I drive it on lower gears and when also when I shift from gear to gear I don't get any pops and bangs why is that. Am I doing something wrong its in n performance mode also I don't get it when driving with rev matching on. But when its idle parked up and then I rev the engine on in n mode it give the pops and bangs. But not when its moving. Doesn't make sense hope someone can give me an answer thanks

I'm assuming you mean when you shift from gear to gear atleast above 4000rpm? Below it doesn't, or rarely, pops.

It should pop while shifting gears just as it pops when reving. Otherwise something is not right! :)

Does it have to be in sport plus mode all settings and plus when I put it on n mode and rev matching on its the same I dont hear pops and bangs when shifting from gear to gear when driving. But when its idle parked up I rev the engine on on n mode or sports mode can hear the pops and bangs. Just weird dont know hope someone got any ideas

I don't know for sure if it does it in sport mode. I only drive in normal or N Custom.

In N mode it should certainly pop and bang!
Does it pop and bang in normal mode or not. So in n mode it should with rev matching on. And in sport plus mode with rev matching it should. Will it work if I have rev matching off the pops and bangs. Or does it have to be on rev matching. Mine does it in n mode with rev matching on in idle mode parked up will give the bangs and pops. But I havent heard any while driving yet in both modes even when shifting gears in sports plus mode its the same no bangs and pops even while rev matching is on. What settings do you guys use can you recommend me i will give it ago unless I'm doing something wrong thanks

It won't pop in normal mode. Above 4.5k revs in N mode it will.

I feel the only advice I can give is to drive it in N custom with sport plus exhaust and sport plus engine, or drive in N mode. Oh and rev the arse off it before changing

No it does not pop and bang in normal mode. I don't know what Sport Plus is? I don't have that mode on my N. Only Normal, Sport, Eco, N-mode and N-Custom. :)

Put it in N mode (or N Custom with atleast everything engine/exhaust related in the sportiest setting) and try shifting gears above 4.5k, or accelerate above 4.5k and let go of the throttle and report back! :)

Will try it when am back out in n mode and does it have to have rev matching on. And also should it pop and bang in sport mode aswell with rev matching on

Rev matching is not needed, but if you downshift with revmatching on it can go above 4.5k automatic and do pops and bangs. But if you do that yourself it should also work without rev matching on. I can't say anything about Sport mode because I never use that mode. :p

It does not in sport mode. The “Engine” setting and the “Exhaust” Setting both need to be in Sport+ and this only happens in N mode (or N custom if you have those 2 options selected). The rev match setting has no effect on it.

You can test this easily. Accelerate hard up to RPM of 5000 and let go of the thottle quickly. Should give pop every time.
This is my favorite under bridges or in tunnels :p.

You will get louder pops and bangs during max acceleration compared to a slower one, even if you shift on the same RPMs.

I find they are louder when you accelerate hard and let.of the throttle compaired to shifting up.
