Is there really 25hp extra in the performance version

I can't even tell which is which from the video. The white car seems to be slightly earlier on the throttle, and the red seems to gear up too early causing the white car to jump ahead. Then the red car reels the white in slowly, and they seem to be fairly evenly matched from then on.

Either there is hardly any difference in torque and power or one of the drivers didn't drive their car to the limit.

According to https://www.hyundai.com/eu/models/i30-fastback-n/features.html#two-0-t-gdi-250ps
even the non-perf has an overboost function (I remember reading the opposite here, correct me if I'm wrong :)), and it seems like the peak torque is the same, only that the torque drops off later and more gradually in the 275ps version.

I think it's safe to say that the differences in numbers are minimal (both torque and acceleration) but I really do like the 275ps version's characteristic better, which has peak torque up until higher up the rev range. It's just lovely to take it all the way to the redline.

Interesting but doesn’t state which is 275 and which is 250 I assume white one is 275 as wheels look like 19’s
But even so depends on reaction speed of driver as didn’t appear much difference is red one’s reactions were slower

I assumed they had to neuter the base version to make sure it wasn’t faster in a straight line than the Performance. Lower vehicle weight, lighter wheels, possibly losing a couple hp through the lsd (this is probably negligible). If anything I’d say this video does suggest the heavier car does have slightly more power.

Reasonable, but lighter wheels and about 25kg vehicle weight difference more affect the jump, 0-50 probably. After very slightly.
