N Side Skirt Stickers

@loafer-N77 The N badge you have shown a link look to be far nicer than the metal ones I received. Now I contacted Hyuandi UK to ask them what are the official n emblem badges because I dont want to go shouting my mouth off to the seller if I have got this all wrong anyhow once hyuandi contact me back with a definitive answer as to wether the Official N badge is plastic or metal becuase if I go complaining to the selelr I dont want to be upsetting a business manager some place who might take offence to em accusing him of wrong doing but anyhow we are agreed as to what that seller advertise and what I received was a totally different product so I can go down that route.

Metal badge I received

@Who! Me. Dude they just picked the wrong part off the shelf and shipped it, just bad luck (happens to me all the time). If you really want the plastic ones try again and contact them directly in advance to confirm, or try another supplier.

@GazmaN Too late already fitted to the car it was only after reading this thread I realised that there are two versions of this N emblem, had I known at the time I would have created a return. The seller should have known this of course. Anyhow we all learn after the fact so lesson learn. I will drop the seller an e mail and let them know I’m not happy as I would have preferred the plastic rubber N emblem as the colours pop more than what they do with the metal N emblem. I contacted Hyundai UK their response was we don’t sell that item as an accessory can you believe that. I certainly cannot and unfortunately the Hyundai parts web site is down for maintenance today. Well it was when I was on the telephone with Hyundai UK today at 12 noon, it is a bad job even when Hyundai don’t even know what accessories they sell.

D'ya not think that maybe if the website is down their catalogue might be and the poor sod on the phone might not know every single accessory they sell?

The metal ones are approved, rather than official.

The seller made a mistake and sent the wrong item. Usually people realise before sticking them on their damn car. You can take them off if you don't like them and maybe they'll send you the plastic ones for free if you're lucky. Jesus wept.

@ _Emma Well you sound upset, why are you so angry. I think you need to understand the woman on the telephone took my number and she said she would phone me back with an answer later in the day as the computers were down she would have to phone well she did phone back and she said she contacted no less than 6 Parts dealerships in the UK and their store rooms the assistants all said to her they have never had this part with the two part number which I gave her, nor have the ever seen an N emblem on it’s own being sold as an accessory.

So she did not need to look up Hyundai parts on line as she phoned the actual dealerships and their stores computers do not stock this item well it is not officially sold by Hyundai as an accessory not unless she hasten to add maybe the individual dealerships import them from other European countries and sell them on in the UK. But the UK Hyundai dealerships do not ordinarily sell this particular item as an accessory within the UK.

As for to seller on e bay selling these N emblems, I notice he has 3 negatives for selling something different to which was advertised if the seller is advertising a product then that is the exact item you should receive. I bet you are the one who you yourself if you purchased something of e bay and it was not as advertised, I bet you would be the one to open a dispute.

What was advertised and what was received when I did receive it I just thought it was the way the photograph was taken the n badge is so small in the hand who would notice that fine detail as everything looks different in real life as opposed to have the actual item in your hand, to me it looked the same item, but I know now it definitely was not the same item..

God you sound really arrogant don’t you, take them off my car and they will send the plastic ones for free unfortunately the seller won’t be sending anything as their account has been taken down.

If only everything in life was a simple as you pointed out in your reply it would indeed be a wonderful world. Especially when you are totally ignorant to the facts.

I notice on this forum people are very quick to criticise other forum members. In future get your facts right before making statements which you don’t know the true facts of the case as pointed out above.

Yes Jesus is weeping with people like you in the world now go to church and ask for forgiveness.

@Who! Me. I think @_Emma was just getting a little exasperated that you seem to be making a mountain out of a molehill with this issue. I understand your frustration but if you're going to get this worked up over an emblem you're going to have a cardiac incident way too young. People are dying in combat zones.

Just to clarify this 100% (not to start off another debate, you know who you are :p), here is what turned up from Germany today:
IMG_20200128_135853028.jpg

Material: Rubber/plastic, (lets say "Polymer Based")

Approx 2mm thick so pretty solid but they are still slightly pliable. Much nicer than the cheap squishy gel badges.

What you really need to do is used 3M Primer Adhesive promoter that is what the professional garages use as the tape on the back of those N badges will be VHB Tape and it needs the 3M Primer Adhesive promoter to secure the VHB tape to the Plastic side skirt of the car or any plastic surface.

Simple scenario will be without the 3M primer adhesive promoter not being used will result the N emblem falling off your side skirt at some point you can use as much tape as you like still won’t make it bond with the plastic properly. The adhesive promoter really bonds the tape to the surface and once applied is virtually impossible to remove without damaging the plastic it is stuck to.

Nice N emblems by the way just what I wished they would be.

At the seller's site it is written:

Note: Use "Component Adhesive" for maximum adhesion (not included).

Which one would that be? Not the 3m primer 94?

Personally I will use a couple of drops of clear silicone. Easily removable if needed but will hold nice enough with the existing adhesive.

3M primer or Adhesion Promoter; Promotes adhesion to polyethylene, polypropylene, ABS, PET/PBT (polymer and plastic) blends and other difficult to stick to substrates.
However, in my experience with polyresin decals, such adhesive two part primers will melt the primary base but not the tape.

Otherwise, it will deteriorate the primary base of the mounting surface (as it's painted) and resin decal but not the tape used for adhesion. If the surface you adhere to wasn't painted then no problem.

The side skirts, rear diffuser, front glossy parts are painted, not formed semi gloss or matt plastic. They are primed from the factory and if replaced, need to be painted before installation.

@loafer-N77 has the right idea.

Good morning.
Did you simply ordered your stickers at a dealer with the part number shown on the plastic bag?
And how much was the package?
Thx in advance
