It's not with Hyundai Assurance. The Race Chip, yes the intake, no.

This was the only intake kit I could find with a box around the filter. I might have to blow my tax return on the one... however murphy's law states as soon as I do a sealed intake with front snorkel will become available :eek:

Fitted in 10mins during my lunchbreak so only driven it around the block.

Fitment and quality is excellent, sounds great. Quite loud from the outside and 'noticable' on inside without being annoying. Massive suction noise under load, minimal chatter/turbo flutter (which is a good thing in my opinion) just and nice big dump of air on throttle release. Like Darth Vader basically......

Very pleased, ITG are generally one of the best and their kits tend to always do what they say they do.

Hmm. I have checked the price. £288 are about 320€. That's quite a lot for "just" that boxed filter with the heatshield mat. For that price i can get a complete intake (i.e. https://impossiblefab.com).

Why has everything for the N has to be so expensive, even if it's just a little thing :mad:
 
Regarding expenses - people please try to understand that we have pretty new cars on market and every single tuning part what will be developed for our cars, will be expensive. All aftermarket parts will be expensive untill there will be more producers on market offering same or similar part. If there are many different products on market, prices will also start to go down. If I am 100% honest, somehow I managed to spend almost 70% of cost new i30n so far for aftermarket parts and modds.

I Have to agree Tarmo.

I'm waiting patiently for developments. Seen turbo's for £2k @stage 2. They will drop in price. More induction kits out, more bov's, chips, re-maps.
Imagine the difference this time next year. :p
I must admit, I'm finding it hard to resist, so I've stuck to the basic internal mods and braided brake lines, up rated fluids etc.

More ITG feedback:

Gave the car "the beans" this morning and it performs flawlessly. There is indeed some mild chatter at lower revs if you are into that sort of thing but under load this thing absolutely gulps the air in.

After parking up I did a very un-scientific, ahem......test - the engine bay to the left hand side of the partition was (obviously) very hot but the right hand side of the intake (the inlet) side was completely cold still.

There isn't really any cold air feed going on here so I guess the whole thing relies on just sucking the "good" air in from the inlet side? I dunno......witchcraft may be involved? :p

I may look at adding some form of cold air inlet anyway, maybe cutting into the undertray and fitting a scoop to direct more air up into that inlet area when in motion. It probably doesn't really require that but its good to fiddle, right?

Really happy with how this car drives, the Intake combined with the GFB Response valve and a DTUK pedal box has given me a smooth drive no matter what speed, revs, driving mode etc :cool:

Well I've gone and done the thing... Noticeably increased noise and I want to say better response at higher RPM!

First impressions - I believe because I have the dual port Kompact BOV I only have minimal turbo flutter/dose when you let off halfway or are driving somewhere between sedately and hard out. Currently running my BOV around 60/40 recirc/atmosphere! My end goal here was to improve how the car breathes and I believe it has done that. I guess we will see what happens when summer comes around!

I have only driven around for an hour tonight but with the tunebox off in stock form it sounds great :cool: granted it was 12 degrees celsius... With the tunebox on the induction noise is certainly more noticeable.

Happy with this mod for now and will report back in a week or so - expensive but it's my Birthday next week and the tax man came to visit ;)

Simmo, how's the fit on the top of the CAI under the hood? Does it meet the hood correctly. I see you got the larger cone also.

Stop listening to the sounds, you're going to ruin the fuel economy!!:p

My fuel economy was doomed the second I did the resonator delete :p and thanks for the Birthday wishes - I can't wait until my present you got me arrives in the mail (Forge Intercooler if memory serves me correctly)

From what I can tell it appears to be snug? The first time I shut the bonnet after install I may have noticed it needed a slight bit of encouragement to close/seat but every close since has been like normal. I might throw my phone in the bonnet, record a video and get back to you! The induction noise is actually quite noticeable... First highway trip on the way to work this morning and if you boot into it in a high gear low RPM but build enough to boost (but not enough to vent to air) you get a decent dose/flutter.

From my understanding (and I could be wrong) it is currently no where near enough to cause any noticeable premature turbo wear the way it sits right now but damn does it tickle my boy racer / fast and the furious vibes every time I hear it ;) Considering my BOV doesn't have a trumpet attachment and just sounds like a whoosh / sneeze this new flutter is music to my ears.

I do want to get a snorkel (fingers crossed Velossa Tech ram) for the front and/or at least something up the passenger side grill up to behind the headlight (seen some Facebook builds do something similar)
