Realised today, that mine does that noise as well.
Drove for about 30 Min. so I would say the components have been warmed up.
Was steering at the parking space and heared the noise. Wasn't even close to steering lock, just about 1/4 rotation of the steering wheel.
Ambient temp was about 2-3 degree.

I have Dunlop Sport 5 winter tires (215) on 18 Inch rims.

I have continentai ice contact 2 studded tyres with 18 inch rims. Today i listened that noise again. And it might coming from the steering column. Maybe a rubber squeking from some bracket?? Not sure..

Maybe it's too late but i'll write anyway.
OE pads are better than any other Hyundai's pad, but still not good enough at least for some tracks, especially if the track is very hard on brake. It's manageable with frequent cooling laps if the track is easy on brake. But if you're remotely serious about time, you should change it (brake fluid too).
After replacing the front rotors/pads/fluid, there is no shortage about braking performance on most tracks (unless you're doing extremely long sessions). So you don't need to change the caliper.
If you're dead serious about time, good braking systems will give you some additional advantage. But I think you should remove every interior before changing the whole brake system, because most of lap time advantage is coming from the reduction of (unsprung and rotating) mass, not from increased braking performance.
Overall braking performance would probably become unfavorable, if you somehow fit something like Brembo GT-R CCM-R. As the system isn't designed for this car, you'll get incredibly wrong pedal feeling and it'll upset many of components including ABS, TCS, ESC. Latter one can be solved by just removing the ABS fuse, but former one would be tricky as the overkill nature of the brake will be somewhat remained in your pedal (even after replacing the master cylinder), so it'll make harder to control.

Presumably it's the same noise as before the steering rack was changed!
If so... why didn't they say it was "normal" before changing the steering rack.
Utter Dealership bullsh#t... Mine doesn't make any of these "normal" noises that others have suffered so it's not normal is it.
Nearly every thread that has mentioned noises with the drive train and steering has had the same Dealership response.... Normal.... Total incompetent idiots.
I feel like mine has become better over time. Or I am just not hearing it now and have become used to it. It's not bothering me. I will listen for it next drive.
Mines being done as we speak, i heard of 5 people suspension struts replaced
I hope it will go off after some time as now it's new. Haha.

Mines just over 2000 miles now, still creaks when steering.

yea. I just tried it out when driving to work. it seems like when stationary, turning the steering slightly left and right can also hear the sound. I don't think it's the suspension
did you have it checked and got any answer?
I mentioned it at service and nothing was mentioned after (I suspect they didn’t check it). Sounds like rubber rubbing on something in mine. It’s added to the list, I’ve reported it, if it becomes and issue it’s their problem.

I had a listen yesterday and the noise is still there but it's not as bad as when new. I only have 3000km as well. I told the dealer at the 1500km service so at least they know. I suspect it's nothing and for now the noise is not really bothering me as it's quite faint. Windows down and engage"N" mode fixes it entirely
I think some of us are on about 2 different noises, mine on started about 500 miles ago and i have 4k on now, it was never there for the 1st 3.5k miles it just started, the last N to make the same noise as mine (which i have driven) is now in bits and the power steering failed and was wrote off. Im also aware there is a TSB out now however im not sure if it applies to the suspension struts or steering rack
Same noise here. I‘ll show it to my dealer in mid of February when I‘m in due to a warranty paint job and change of the right headlight (condensation / rain). I‘ll let you know what he‘s saying.
