i20N fuel economy

I have to say its the only car I don't even bother to look at what mpg its doing it. I drive it how I like it and then get out with a smile on my face and have to say I'm not bothered at how many it did on that drive!

Which is odd because I also have a Santa Fe and on that I look at the mpg! but then that's the car that does the sensible driving and long journeys. 🤣

When I drive from home to Norwich, about 85 miles on mostly dual carriageway at a steady 70 I get between 45 and 50 mpg in normal mode. I find eco makes very little difference. Between home and work, 12 miles down country lanes it’s mid 40s at best or around 30mpg in N mode.

By calculation over the last 3,244km mine is 6.61L/100km.

98RON, always in custom N mode.

Front tyres after 5,600km down to not much over 3mm so i'm about to swap front to rear. Just in case anyone thinks I drive like a pussy.
I've never known tyres to wear so fast!

Two months ago, I bought a two-year-old i20 N (with 29,800 km on the clock), and a week later, I went on a road trip through Croatia, Slovenia, and Italy—covering 3,400 km. About 2,200 km of that was on highways at speeds of 100–130 km/h in "ECO" mode, while the rest was on secondary roads at 80–100 km/h (depending on the speed limits), mostly in "N" mode. The "N" is bringing me a lot of joy! :) Fuel consumption was 5.9 L/100 km according to the display (not calculated via tank refills)—a very pleasant surprise. Now, after some short commutes to work (10 km) and a few fun drives to really put the engine and chassis through their paces, it’s sitting at 6.9 L/100 km, though it’s slowly creeping up. :) I’m curious to see where it eventually settles.

That was excellent economy on the trip.

Mine is now at similar km's to yours at 32,600km. The average reading for that is now 6.2L/100km. It's always driven in N custom with the engine tune at the highest setting.
