Bluespark Tuning Box

I don't think the box messes with AFR, it only has boost and map sensors, afaik it's tricking the ecu to boost higher (constant 1.1 - 1.2 bar or so) but you can email them and ask
Yes, im sure that Bluespark has tested this box in dyno for detonation, afr and targeted boost and all other stuff.
But some cars may have other mods than bluespark demo car so i was just curious.

wrong! it messes with afr, by triggering map, thus altering the amount of AFR. When you put the box, you can hear that injectors work more, so as to produce the amouth of fuel that the altered absolute fake pressure sends to the ecu.
If the AFR did not change, by fooling only the turbo pressure and make more 0.1,0.2 bars of boost, if fuel wasnt altered, car wouldn certainly has broken due to extremely lean af/r.

I have intake and gpf delete and have no problems with the box, I'm installing decat downpipe next week

you wont be able to observe anything with lean mixture, it will just destroy your internals, due to high temps inside the combustion champer. A more richer mixture is cooling the internals, a leaner due to boxes may lead to high temps.

I am trying to help, but you dont seem to want to listen. Check Mishas nurburgring tour with a tuning box and without, and see the engine temps in the same places of the ring. Then you will be able to understand what i mean, because you have no previous experience with tuning and engines or you dont have a wideband sensor as i do and be able to check the AFR realtime with tuning box and without.. If you cant find the aforementioned youtube videos, just tell me to send them to you.

i watched both videos but you can't compare as the fully stock was in a sunny day and with box was cloudy day with prob ambient 10C difference which translates into the engine temp diff, but i'm not disagreeing with you, all I'm saying is my temps stayed the same after installing the box

Exactly as you sayed, fully stock run took place on a sunny day at the end of JUNE, so temps are quite high at that period of time on the ring. So as stock car at the end of june was doing a whole lap with great pressure from Misha without having temp problems (After 115 celsius temp colour changes and car decreases power by decreasing boost and advance timming) means that stock can handle such hard abuse. From the other hand with tuning box, without such a hot day, pay attention from 10.51 time, how many times engine temp was higher than 114 and the car was cuting boost and advance timming, Now if you dont push the car continuasly, or you dont live in hot climates like Greece etc , where temps can raise up tp 38 celsius during summer time, then you wont have problems. But the princeple of tuning box is to raise boost, thus it raise temps even if you cant see that clearly :)

I don't get what you're saying, both cars stock and racechip are passing 115 C in the same places on the track I don't really get your point, I send prints of both videos at the end of the track

I will try to explain one last time. Car wont go beyond 116-117 engine temp, as there is a safety feature in the ECU that decreases boost and ignition timming when car goes to 115 celsius so as to protect the engine. ( you can see that when temp goes to 115 celsius either with stock or tuned car, boost level is decreased and is lower than before). So either with racechip or stock when we reach 115, safety feature is on to decrease high temps. I think that this is clear.
Now the real difference is in the duration of the overheat feature. I mean with the tuned car, from 8.00 second to 8.55 second in the video, car is almost 55 seconds all the time with the safety feature (from 8.00 to 8.55) and tries to decrease the temp, while the stock car, even in hotter day in june and two passengers inside, the same happens only for 25 seconds. This is the real difference and is very logic. If you increase the boost , you spray more fuel in the compustion champer, thus you increase temps of the engine. Tune boxes or ecy remaps, increase boost, so spray more fuel in the engine, thus make more power, but more fuel and power means increased temps.
That happens in real life too. If you take an iron box, and spray 100 ml of fuel and then set it on fire with sparkplugs, you will produce A number of temp. But if you spray 130 ml of fuel (increasing boost) then when we set fire with sparkplugs in the engine, temps wiil be A+.
Its as simple as that.

Yeah I think you're looking way too much into something that doesn't matter dude... Nobody is hitting + 30C on ignition from an ECU remap or tuning box... my car barely goes above 100C, sometimes reaches 105C at most here in Portugal with 30C + weather, if I accelerate fast the temps even go down to high 80s low 90s. I strictly use 98 Octane fuel in my car and have had 0 problems with it, most of the times I use 98 with additives, and most people run 95, if there would be knock it would happen a lot faster from having 95 oct fuel than a tuning box or ecu tune...

If am talking about track days or sport driving , not cruising where there is nothing to worry about. I guess in portugal with 35-40 celsius during summer time, you will find out what happens first hand :)

nothing happens, already done it lol even did 1k km during peak summertime in 38C weather

I guess its the risk we'll take with our own cars 🤷‍♂️
Got a track day in 2 weeks, ill let you know if mine blows up

I have a pipercross intake and the bluespark installed, around 15-20mph in "N" mode if I hold the throttle for a second and release I am getting turbo flutter / compression surge. How dangerous is that and is this to do with the tuning box?

what you hear is the recirculation valve opening and dumping the boost back into the intake pipe, not flutter, I've only gotten flutter once under hard accelaration in like 4th gear nearing redline

Is this okay then?
