Unable to find a Kona N to even sit in (UK)

Update time.

My Kona is supposed turn up at the dealer at the end of next week or soon thereafter.

My dilemma is do I get the dealer to leave the wrap on the car and get the car ready for a 1st March delivery and taking the car on a "23" plate?

Feb is a short month after all and I'm convinced a 23 plate will always be worth more than a 72 come the "trade-in" time. BTW, its not a snobbery thing as I have private plate to go on

The above seems to makes sense, albeit that its going to be a right PITA without a car for a few more weeks

Only you can decide :D

Yes, it would be nice to have a 23 plate but if, like me, you are putting on your own plate.........? I nearly did not bother with mine as I actually really liked the index no. it came with, which was quite "catchy"!

The differential in value will depend somewhat on how long you intend to keep the car - short term, if you can't live with road noise, wind noise, firm suspension and general "rawness" of the drive or, like me long term, as I probably could not afford anything else with comparable performance in the near future and are prepared to put up with all of that for the sheer entertainment and fun factor of the beast?

The only thing I would add, I had to wait 6 weeks to actually drive mine as it was a demo model that they could only sell at 3 months after first reg and the wait seemed a very looooooooooooong time!

I'd wait for the new registration year as, when the time comes, you'll be removing your 'personal' plate and replacing it with the DVLA issued number, which will then on paper be a MY23 and not a MY22; better for any potential buyer methinks.

A decision has been made and I'm going to wait for the "23" plate. "for the higher resale value"

Today I booked the train for 01March collection and good news, GWR have a Jan sale. I got a first class ticket for the same price as an "off-peak" ticket. "PS. I have never travelled 1st before"

If they do I'll just have to re-arrange, another few days won't make much difference, and yes it was close.

Feels good that I made my choice

... I have never travelled 1st before...
You Rockstar! On the train you'll get a piece of fruit cake, a sandwich and a few cups of coffee - if the time is right you might even get something hot like a Toastie! Don't forget, if there's a GWR station lounge then you can use that too before you board; wherein you can get a newspaper and eat all the crisps and shortbread your tummy can take! Failing that fill your rucksack with them for the B&B if staying overnight ... Just me? 😄
