From our I30 Wagon over an SQ5 over a Golf or other "economy" cars (nothing really is these days) everything I drove in the meantime just feels like a goddamn boat. I am not in the lucky position to test drive sports cars on the more expensive end and I would really like some comments from some folk who did if the "on rails" feeling get's even better.

Will see next week how it goes, since i'll pick I30N next monday.
Coming from a person who used to drive Focus ST (FWD) and then RS (AWD), I need to say I am happy that I'm getting on FWD, because I miss that feeling of torque, when the car wants to show you power.

I'm afraid of tyres, used to have Michelin PS4 and they were amazing. Assymetric 5 was good on RS, but Assymetric 3 was bad as hell on ST.
 
Grabbed some wind deflectors from Hyundai and put them on

Did my first proper spirited drive on a really awesome road with great asphalt on Austrian side of Jezersko as we call it when returning home to Slovenia from vacation. No traffic whatsoever so full N mode engaged and damn, the car performed beautifully, planted like a mofo on p-zeros, no over/under steering and I was pushing it really hard. The g forces were crazy 😄 Car really handles like a champ.

I've been looking high and low for some of those Red Side Skirt Inserts (the Gel ones not the sticker) which were everywhere a couple years ago and haven't been able to find anything apart from someone selling them on ebay for $400.00 AUD :,( could anyone perhaps suggest a better place to source these? Thanks in advance!

question is where to find them locally, but if you cant find them, ask them for an estimated shipping price. Will be expensive but not $400 AUD expensive ;)

Yeah they were very popular a couple years ago and now I haven’t seen them at all! Desperately need them though…

Just gave it a final wash before it gets shipped off to it's new owner. A bit proud that it looks as good, if not better, than the day I collected it more than three and a half years ago, and without ever having being kept undercover. Hard work, but a labour of love that I hope the next custodian continues.

@Pavlosev thanks for the sentiment man. It's a shame it has to go, but it has a few minor warranty issues (not mechanical) that need to get sorted and I just can't deal with Hyundai in this town anymore.

Ford Fiesta ST-3 incoming. I can get away with something smaller and less practical than the N now that my wife has swapped out her Hyundai for a Ford truck. Yes, she definitely wears the pants in this family 😅.

Just watched The Redline review video (Peter Anderson) on the Fiesta ST - great car on all accounts - the reviewer mentions the i30N as comparable for sheer fun! Keen to read about your experiences later on this forum.

After testing many hot hatches I reach the conclusion the I30N is the best car to buy (Performance, sound, looks).

But these days I'm seeing many people swapping I30N to fiestas ST just for the fact that is more fun (more rear lose than the N's planted precision for track use).

As I will use the car 99% times on the street. Did you feel the ST, despite being slower and less dramatic sound than the I30N, more fun on your test drive?

I only buy car's for the pleasure of driving, and the fact that the ST3 is ~10K € less expensive than the facelift I30N makes me wonder😅😌

I found our FIST to be lack luster, underpowered and slow in comparison to the VN. It was fully loaded and was good on fuel but this was primarily due to a lack of power. Media Display was out of date, didn’t provide enough room and felt unbalanced. I’ve driven and owned far better cars then the FIST.

I tuned it, upgraded the engine, along with the suspension and it never did give the responsive feeling of the VN. Frankly speaking, it was just boring for a FORD performance product. We sold it rather quickly, for a Mercedes GLA45 AMG.

Would I have one for a runabout daily, possibly but not much beyond it.👍🇺🇸

Thanks for the insight, but you had the FIST mk7 right? In europe the mk8 is totally diferent: the engine, braces, suspension and even sound. I haven't tried out but I've heard the engine is so punchy and very little turbo lag, perfect for a back road😁
 
Yes but by the standards set by the VN, it’s slow. Don’t get me wrong, I liked the car for a daily driver but that was the extent of it. I had suspension/engine from Mountune and Cobb, along with a V3 flash tune. Dynamometer was right at 275 whp with 91 octane, max torque was 257.3 but it was just slow by comparison. I could have done and spent considerable more to bring it to a point of being quicker. However, I never found it to be one that was capable of being fast. , quick yes but not fast all round, not without sinking a gross amount of money into it.

Personally, I don’t believe the 3 cylinder will do much better than the 4 cylinder either. Sounds like the same thing, just warmed over for emissions acceptability.

Suspension on the MK8, won’t come close to the Koni Clubsport adjustable suspension but it still felt unbalanced. Way to much torque steer for serious use.

I‘ve just been in better cars with a capability of being fast or simply were. Ford touted it as a quick hatchback and it wasn’t. I can’t see the MK8 as being that much better. In stock trim the FIST MK7 or 8 has no guts. This is my opinion of course but it’s well informed.👍🇺🇸
