i20N - Reviews, General Discussion & Info

At first I loved the Performance Blue, I actually wanted one. But they're everywhere and I've grown tired of it. Luckily I was able to change to a red one.

It does not bother me that most of the i30N and probably soon the i20N will be in this color. The car is primarily to please me, the fact that others have the same does not matter.

I didn't say it's because of what others think or what they have, I just said seeing so many of them everywhere made me get tired of that colour scheme. I like it, I just can't stand it anymore :p

I’ve never liked performance blue, and I love blue cars, I wish Hyundai could mix up the colours a bit, they have 2 shades of grey, that’s a waste of a colour, I’d love to see a green like the new RS3 has, or a yellow or orange..

and i wish the i20N dark blue was available for i30N ... i think a metallic dark blue would look sick (not a fan of matte though)

i despise the performance blue so much it put me off so hard it put me off buying an i30 for an entire year.. the other colour choices are nice, i was quite surprised at how nice the finish of the red is.

I understand. Dragon Red Pearl is nice colour:

Yes, pretty nice colour, I like the way it highlights some of the car's features and at the same time keeps the red trims away, still keeping an aggressive stance.

I agree. Red accents should be optional.

The more I watch the tests, the more likely it is that I will abandon phantom black in favor of performance blue with a black roof.
In my case, I think I'll order the Dragon red just to not get the red accents 😂

Can't these red accents just be removed? In photos they look like some hard rubber stuck to the plastic with glue.

I not super much against the red trims myself but honestly I think they can be removed if it's a big deal. It is plastic trim and I have noticed the i20 N-line (not N) has the exact same trim pieces in black. I'm thinking perhaps it's possible to get the black trim pieces as spares parts or similar. Or someone might do them as after market items eventually. Personally I will buy a performance blue without black roof if possible. It sort of appeal to me that is a proper performance car but the theme is not as macho/stereotypical as some others. Admittingly it looks really great in black but there are just tons of black cars here and I don't expect to see many performances cars around my neighbourhood. It will look quite unique on the roads here.

Maybe you can cover it.
I was going to put a black wrap over it on my i30N to cover it up just before I sold it, and it’s more of a simple job on that car, i20N tho looks a bit more tricky, especially at the rear, if I ever buy this I’ll be getting the red one no doubt so it comes without it, just a shame it isn’t the engine red..

I thought also about the red accents, but then if you didn’t have them it would look the same i20 N Line
theres no other i20s in australia which in this case will be handy, im thinking get a black one and get the paint shop to sort out the rear red bullshit going on back there.

Yeh the red at the rear is the worst part, it’s busy enough as it is without having to add to it, I’m just not sure yet whether I like where Hyundai are going with there designs lately? all these sharp edges, triangles and creases everywhere, I just don’t know? actually the best looking thing they have at the moment is the IONIQ 5.
