Went to Halfords, picked up some Bosch AeroTwin. AR16U & AR26U for those wanting to do the same.

Took 2 minutes to replace and install.

Just in time for today’s rain too :)

I have the Bosch AeroTwin also. Nice wiper blades.

Hidden wipers, a triumph of form over function. Only hidden from inside the car, not properly concealed on the outside. On a cold morning that part of the screen isn't heated by the internal blowers and so they have to be prised off the windscreen. I'm very nervous about the auto function kicking in before they have been unstuck.

Then because the rubber is so stiff a compound they don't clear the screen for about 10 miles. Again, they are resting on an unheated part of the screen.

The rear wiper also is outside the zone of the heated rear screen, so is stuck to the glass. Don't reverse with your front wipers on before you have carefully unstuck it.

PIAA silicons ordered.

Indeed, with my 90's Honda's can flick the wiper control down very fast and release it very fast, that makes the wiper go up about 10cm. Just enough to let the wiper rest in the heated zone.
Not sure if our N has this feature.

Btw, please tell me the part nr of the PIAA's you ordered. I've looked last year but no model was available yet.

The i30N and my registration are not listed as applications yet. But the wiper arms look pretty standard so I have gone with WS65EFB and WS40EB.

Please note these have not been fitted yet, so no guarantees, I will update when done.

Please do! :) Those super silicons are fantastic

You once said:
"It's part of the skill of driving, deciding when to use your lights, wipers, etc. I don't want my lights coming on when I go under some trees on a sunny day, and I definitely don't want them staying off when it's bright but foggy. Firmly in the manual camp. "

Why are your wipers on Auto? :p

Auto off, reverse auto off and this:

Done.

Good point well made, but there is no intermittent setting without using auto, so it's easier to leave them in auto mode, against my wishes.

Well it's good news and bad news (for some). Blades fitted and they fit and work correctly. Tested up to 90 mph.

I used the C1 adapter for both blades.

But ... a little bit of the driver's side arm is visible above the bottom of the windscreen when the blades are parked. It could do with an adapter that allows the arm to sit a little closer to the screen. I looked at all the adapters provided and none seemed to offer any advantage over the C1.

It doesn't worry me, but if the concealed wipers was the main reason that you bought an i30N then you might want to look elsewhere. Also the short blade is quite agricultural looking compared to the smooth Hyundai original. But again, I can't see them from in the car and the function should be much better so I'm happy.

Sound good overall! A picture is welcome any time! :p

Your wish is my command.

This is taken from my eye position, but the lens is offset on the phone, but it's still a reasonable representation of the visible bit of wiper.

When it comes to renewal you can buy the inserts separately, so it's a lot cheaper next time round. I could have looked to see whether the inserts would fit in the Hyundai arms, but it's too late now.

Definitely quieter than the OEM parts.

Gonna go first here:

Currently still have the factory wipers installed on the front (Fastback - so no rear wiper):
The wipers are doing an OK job at keeping the windshield clean but as soon as you use the washers at anything over 100kph - good luck...

Currently have the BOSCH AR653S Aerotwin on order, will report back as soon as I've installed them had a bit of time to test.

I have ordered a set of PIAA super silicone Aero vogue. 400mm & 700mm
I had PIAA wipers on all of my cars thru the years. They last way longer than the crappy Bosch ones.

I will report once they arrive :)

A good tip is to try something like rain-x, really makes a difference
