What car did you come from?

Wow, some pretty awesome lists out there! Mine is probably shorter than most.
Typing it all out, my car history pretty much tells the story of my life so far - Skint Student, to a slightly better off student/graduate. Get a better graduate job and do a massive upgrade, only to downgrade and get on the property ladder. A few years pass and only now is the car collection starting to recover.... :)

1997 Ford Ka 2 - 2002-2004
2003 Renault Clio Dynamique - 2004-2006
2006 BMW 120i M Sport - 2006-2009
2009 Toyota Aygo Black - 2009-2014
2014 Mazda 3 Sport Nav - 2014-2017
----------------------------------------
2016 Mazda Mx5 - 2016 - Present
2017 Porsche 718 Cayman S - 2017- Present
2017 Kia Picanto GT Line - 2017 - Oct 2018 (Expected)

2018 Hyundai i30N Performance - Oct 2018 (Expected)

Oooh, right...

Series IIA Landy SWB (worked on it whilst waiting to get licence, then drove it for a year, sold for a profit)
Volvo 340 (student, parent-driven option)
Volvo 360
Passat GL5
Mk2 Golf GTi
Renault 19 16V Phase 1
Renault 19 16V Lhase 2
SEAT Córdoba SX
Renault Megane Coupé 16V
3 x company Jag X-Types (not my choice)
1986 Porsche 911 (lovely old car, couldn't hack the X-Types as only transport)
SEAT Leon Cupra 20 VT
Nissan 350Z
Golf R32 (I think we're up to 2005 at this point)
Subaru Impreza WRX STI Spec D
BMW 123d
(And a Defender 90 300 tdi for a while, but actually sold that for a profit!)
Honda S2000 (fantastic car, one of the last production ones)
Octavia Scout (overlap with the above, had to be sensible for a while)
MB C220 CDI (old one for the work schlep)
MB CLS 320 (as above but my resolve had weakened!)
MB C63 (absolutely blumin loved it, had it 4 yrs... Longest I've owned a car)
HyNdai i30N

Suffice it to say, my pension would be looking far, far better than it currently is if I'd been a bit more sensible with cars!

Still... got a few more years to top up pension.

Will the N take the spot, time will tell, havent got the N yet.

I've never had anything quite like the N, usually just an old A to B bashers that were used more for off road and camping leisure :)

But in order;

1990 Daihatsu Feroza – Brilliant first car

1998 Toyota Celica – Gen 6 with the ‘bug eye’ style front (yes a hair dressers car I know)

2002 Pajero IO – Lifted, locked and all the rest! It was such a capable car being an underdog

But now I currently own the i30N and my trusty 1998 Short Wheel base Pajero – Also lifted, front diff locked and all the rest.

I’ve driven friends XR6 Turbos and other more sporty cars over the years, and my father has a golf R. Finding it more fun driving the N around corners than any previous car in a straight line to be honest.

2005 Mitsi Lancer. One of the insurers i wanted a quote through asked me if I've ever driven a car with as much power as the N. lol. N has double and a bit of kw than the Lancer.

2004 Nissan 350Z (Fairlady Z), which is not going to be traded. But it will be stored for a little while at first :)

My darling "2004 alfa romeo 147 1.6 120cv"

Started driving at the age of 19 with a Peugeot 106 mk1 1500cc diesel.
Sold it after 10 months and bought a new Seat Leon 1M 1.9TDI in January 2005. Never had any issues with this car!
In 2011 I started working very close to my house and didn't want the diesel anymore so I went for a second hand VW Golf GTI mk6, mapped to 270hp. This one is sold and now waiting for the N :p

Kia Pro Ceed GT in Fusion white.
We owned this car from September 2014 till March 2018.
1.6 Turbo with 201bhp and 265nM torque.

Loved it. And would love to drive one again after having the I30N for 9 months now......

Cool comparison.....

2014 Kia Cee'd GT, 1,6L T-GDI, 204 hp - could say the little Brother of the N :D

That’s at least 3 of us on here that have came from a Ceed/Pro Ceed GT to the I30N;)

Slightly off topic - but did you see that the 2019 Ceed GT is the same 201bhp and 265nm torque......Old, old engine now that one I’m afraid....
