Then went on to get two Ford Focus 1.8 one after the other

Then it was time for the - seat Leon FR in 2007

Then came the focus ST electric orange in 2008

Then I went boring and got an Audi A4 s-line

Love the names too, good work!

It will be interesting going back to a vehicle with less than 6 cylinders. Problem is in Australia there isn't many vehicles that have a manual gearbox and are sedan left and the latest ZB Commodore (they should of never called it a commodore) is <need vomit smiley> So had to make a tough choice and pick a totally different type of vehicle from what I have been driving most of my life. I was blown away with the couple of test drives I had of the N ... I thought I would hate it since I have never enjoyed front wheel drive cars ... couldn't even pick up on it being a front wheel drive car, Hyundai have done an awesome job in that area.

Love the names too, good work!
Cars definitely have a personality and naming them also helps with remembering the type of car they were.

Tell the truth now - are you sad the Commodore is now a French owned Opel ? Looks like you are or were a big GM fan.
I liked them too but back when they were Aus made. Friend of mine has a Commodore Storm and my son has a SS Redline LS3 manual. These last few models are finished so much better and really drive nicely. Nothing on a N car though. These things are just plain fun on four wheels.

Yeah I was quite unhappy the day I heard that Holden's would be shutting down in South Australia ... I always thought it was something us South Aussies could be proud of manufacturing a car in our own backyard so to speak. I remember as a little kid I could never get over that we created cars here. :) I always felt the VE was knocking on the door to the rest of the world saying ... hey we can build pretty good cars our self. Holden should of never called the new model a Commodore, should of just gave the Commodore brand a grand farewell.

I must admit it was not an easy decision to let go of my VE for the N ... I think that in itself shows how impressed I'm with the N with only a few test drives. I'm hoping so much when I get my new Red N and drive off for the first time from the dealership it will be with a smile and not feeling I should of kept my VE.

Passed my test in 2011 and my first and as of now current car is a MKIV VW Polo Facelift with a mere 75hp. My N (also my first new car) will hopefully arrive in december...

As my polo has been modified quite a bit I am not planning on keeping my N stock either :p
My polo has new wheels, suspension, soundsystem and a few minor details that have been changed :)
Although it doesn't seem much, I am quite connected to this car and it's not easy to let your first own car go :/2018_Polo-1.jpg

I bought my first car (66 Dodge Charger) at age 16 for $300 (needed to buy a broken driver side window and the drive shaft had been dropped) - in 2012, some 30+ years later, I traded it in to pay for some work done on my parents house after it sat in their garage for 25+ years. Most likely got $9000 for it, but it would have needed a complete renovation from the ground up. The N definitely gets better MPG & is more cost effective than investing in an old timer where I can't get parts in Germany.

It was a sad day signing it away. I know how you feel.
