Hey guys I had a curious starting issue. First happened last October after being left undriven for 3 weeks. The Car would turn on but not start. It eventually started then was ok so put it down to a drop in battery output. Happened again now recently while the car was being driven regularly. Same thing not starting but doors and all lights coming on. No fault codes. Very odd had battery checked and its fine. It started again by fluke so I took it to my sound guy to check the aftermarket immodiliser. No issues with it but he did remove it and I'm testing if it happens again. Could the immobiliser interfere?? Its a laserline with tags. I changed all the batteries in keys and tag but it wasnt that. hasn't happened so far but just wanted to rule out any other possible causes. Cheers

Yes, an aftermarket immobiliser can definitely cause random no-start issues, especially if it is cutting the starter or fuel circuit, so removing it was a good step.

If it happens again, also check battery grounds, starter relay, ignition switch, and any loose or corroded connections. A battery can test fine but still cause issues if the connections aren’t great.

Thanks it was the starter motor type and I'm almost đź’Ż it's cured now. I paid for it so would want it back and the fitter has offered a warranty replacement and free fit but will the problem start again? I guess if I could get a refund for it less labour might have to consider it.
