Engine Spark plugs

Factory torque is like 23.6 ft lbs. I just torqued them to 25 ft lbs to make it easy for me and my eyes. That should be fine.

What is the size of the spark plugs? 14mm ?
I want to buy a spark plug gap tool, that you gap it by tightening a bolt
 
12mm, not 14. 14 is for mostly domestic vehicles. But 12 mm and 14 are used in both. Hope this helps?

Guys, I have a question what tool You're using to check gap?

I have like coin buyed in moto shop, and second with leaf. Look how terrible incorrect is "coin" version:
Where shoud be 0,025 for example, in real it is 0,028. "leaf" version is fine to compare:

They are not accurate. You need to be utilizing the appropriate flat feeler gauge set and spark plug caliper tool.

You place the feeler gauge between the ground and center electrodes, then adjust with the caliper by screwing it in until the proper gap is achieved.

If it's to close, do not pry against the center electrode as you will damage it. You can utilize needle nose pliers to spread the ground electrode without touching the center electrode.

The small wrench on the feeler gauge set is designed to lift the ground electrode without touching the center electrode. :)
Gauges such as you're displaying are neither accurate or useful.

To confirm, the threads are M14 (so 14mm tool), 16mm socket to screw it, and 26mm length
 
I found this old thread and have a dilemma - to buy new spark plugs or not.
First of all - I'm thinking about HKS M45XL or 40XL - still don't know which one for my tuned car.
Why I'm thinking about new spark plugs - SOMETIMES when the car is cold I have somekind of twitchs or jumps.
This happens for a moment 5-8 seconds with low starting speed on 1/2 gear and goes away after adding more gas.
I don't know if it is from spark plugs but I found similar thread on kia stinger owners forum with THETA 2.0 engines too.
After they changed plugs in most case problem went away and yes - problem was in the cold too (I'm not talking about cold engine in the summer but winter temperatures).
This winter in my country was more cold than in two previous years and I think it is time to do something with those cold problems. Soon I will change whole set of the liquids in my car but started to thing about spark plugs too.
Still have few questions for owners of those spark plugs in european i30N (HKS M45XL or 40XL):
- any problems with them after longer time ?
- did you guys changed gap ?
- any problems with higher heat range in 45XL ?
- any pros and cons ?

If you are tuned then use the M45XL's. Gap them at .026. The 40's are a stock heat range & would be a great upgrade if the car was NOT tuned. I have M45XL's in for over 6K miles with no problems. I have had no fouling and use the stock N purple tune the most. Hope this helps?

But what about post #14.....

The gap is still the problem I think...
So 0,024" = 0,61mm if we talk about european cars should be fine ?
 
Look up ^ at post #68 in this very thread.
Already been explained that without a good set of feeler gauges as shown on the right you may as just be guessing the gap.
That's why I put this photo here.
I still don't know the stock gap.
Most of people say 0,024" some of them something else.
 
I've had mine gapped at .026 with NO problems for at least 6k miles. I'm sure the .024 gap will be just fine too. Just use the correct plug if you plan to add a tune.
