When I start my Ioniq 5N, despite the fact the the rear seats are completely unoccupied, the rear seat belt reminder light comes on... but only for the centre seat. It goes off after a while... but it suggests that someone is sitting there without their seatbelt on. There are no audible warnings... just the three seatbelt reminder icons but with just the centre one lit up in red. It doesn't come up if the seatbelt is done up (with or without someone on that centre seat. Is there a centre seat weight / occupancy sensor that's at fault? Is there a centre seat sensor at all or is this just a generic general reminder?

Rear Centre Seatbelt Reminder Light - Sensor?

I'm paying more attention to it now...! Basically, when I get in and start the 5N up... all three of the rear seatbelt lights come on... but then the outer two switch off after a few seconds just leaving the centre one on. And this is with the seats unoccupied and with no seatbelts done. It initially made me think it was a fault but then the remaining centre one goes off after a while. Maybe it's just a Hyundai quirk.

When I did the ADP box install, I had to remove the passenger side rear seat to get access to the factory wiring. Part of that process was unplugging a little grey plug for the center rear seat. I think that is for the occupant sensor. It is down behind the base of the center buckle.

I've got another idea; while scrolling through the menus trying to find out how to cancel the startup/shutdown chimes/tones I found something that might be helpful for the unwanted rear seat occupant warning. I am in the states, so I don't know if this a U.S. spec thing or what, but if you go setup>vehicle>convienence, there is a button you can switch off to eliminate the rear seat occupancy warning.
That is to not forget anything on anybody inside the car when you leave it @ac/dc n 5 It's not for that warning to turn off on the middle seat.
From what I have heard, but not officially confirmed that middle rear seat does not have a sensor, at least on i20 N. I believe it's the same for your model as well.
I actually made a test and asked a person to stay on that middle seat without and with a seat belt and the sensor behaves the same.
I have asked my dealer for almost a year now about it, but did not get an official answer.

@Namyang... that was the same answer I got from my local dealership. They confirmed that the centre seat at the rear does not have a occupancy sensor, nor does the middle seat belt buckle. They surmised that the light on the dashboard for the centre rear seat is programmed to time out intentionally but is there because it was likely that some markets legally require all occupiable seats to have sensors, but the UK market does not... so it is not specified in order to save costs. They did emphasise that this was just an "educated guess" though.
Crappy engineering! They could have disabled that light for the markets that do not require a sensor on the middle seat. This is leading people to think that something is wrong. Seems that money is all that matters these days for automotive manufacturers.

I did see that grey plug at the base of the center rear belt when I had the passenger side rear seat out. I have turned off the rear seat warning in setup, and do not get any warnings about a possible stowaway when turning off the car.
