Thanks bluedragoN interesting to know that oil consumption will stabilise at the 4000 mile mark didn't know that. But yeah I'll always continue to keep an eye on this issue for as long as I own the vehicle just to be sure.

Hello!
I just did 15k km on my i20n and went to check the oil level (Which was changed about 6months ago at the 10k km service). To my surprise it looks like it is slightly overfilled (so the level would be about 2mm over the F on the dipstick). It it slightly hard to read the correct level, as the plastic part on the dipstick gets oiled up when brushing up against the sides, but i'm fairly certain that it is around there.
I really doubt that's going to be a problem and maybe the dealer overfilled a little bit to acount for some oil burning but, after noticing this, should i empty it a little bit?

Thanks!

Sorry for the out of focus and pretty bad picture. The level is around the red mark, just as the F finishes. It may look like it is higher in the picture but it is because the dipstick is horizontal and the oil spreads a little bit.

Always check after service, they often overfill with 4,8 Liters. On the last service we got 4,0 liters, so it was 3 dot lines under max.

You should check the oil level more frequently than every 6 months.

My experience with Shell Helix Ultra 5W-30 with my current Peugeot 206 GTi had not been good.

I had always used Amsoil 5W-30 Signature and changing to the Helix (could not find Amsoil at the time) made the engine rough and increased average fuel consumption by about 0.5l/100Km.

In my next oil change, found the Amsoil in stock and I felt like I took out sand and replaced it with honey in the engine.

If anyone tried the Amsoil 0W-20 Signature please let us know of your comments! :)

Hi,

Took me i20N f a drive today, nothing crazy and engine oil was to to 97 degrees. Is this normal?
Engine temp was 100 degrees? Thanks guys.

I have a Kona N, so different engine, but usually see around 90 driving in normal mode, but if I use N mode at all, I see 95-100, so I wouldn't worry about it. It is also pretty dependent on the temperature outside as well.

Someone with the 1.6 can chime in, but this seems normal to me.

Edit: Doing a little research on the forums here, it seems like other peoples i20N's are running about the same temperature:

Ah ok, brilliant. Thank you.

How is the Kona N? Are you enjoying it?

The Kona N is awesome!! It's not for everyone, but it's perfect for me! Scary fast, quiet when I need it to be, as practical as I need it to be. It's definitely a sports car and not a 'fun suv' which I think is what a lot of people don't understand when they criticize it.

They look great and only seen one in the UK myself, so definitely unique. I personally like them. Thank you and enjoy 😁

Hey Guys, noticed that Shell has branded this new Ilsac Gf-6 0w20 oil as "hybrid" oil. But this is the latest one and meets latest specifications. I just dont want to buy hybrid oil to my i20N 😂

Maybe need to order some Millers EE for first oil change. Not easy to find it here in Finland, but prerry sure that it can be ordered somewhere.
