Micron Grey Pictures

I think I may have the only Micron Grey in our state. Just love it. The Performance Blue is really good too however they are the most popular colour and so more of those about. They look really great in person IMO. Photos don't usually do them justice.:)

PB looks good on a summer's evening, setting sun off to one side.

Perhaps I should emigrate to sunnier climes...!

So pleased for you matey, you guys really should get a medal for waiting times out there. Now the real test keeping it under 3k for 600 miles it was a real bitch for me!

My
1059 kms on the clock and first coat of wax just applied and hand buffed. Now letting the revs run a bit higher. Awesome car.View attachment 3851
My N has been with the Hyundai service centre since Monday 12 November. They think it's the ECU. Not sure when I will get the car back. Symptoms are rough idle and exhaust side misfire on all cylinders. Started happening at 653km but got much worse at 1100km.

I don't like reading posts with trouble like this and then clicking "like". I am just acknowledging your post in doing this.
Seems a long time at the service department. ECU does not take that long to change. I have seen some users with misfires traced back to poor quality fuel. If this looks like going on much longer I would be sending a PM to @Bill Thomas or @Geoff Fear to ask if Hyundai can assist the dealer with your issue. Worth the effort IMO. My best wishes to you in getting this fixed ASAP :)

Thanks. I'm trying to stay cool and give them a chance to fix it. They are liasing with Hyundai technical support and the factory, apparently. Data is sent and advice given.

Serious question: what is an "exhaust side misfire" as opposed to a "misfire"?
The misfire occurs whilst the exhaust valve is open as opposed to a misfire when the inlet valve is open. So with an exhaust side misfire there are more pops and bangs than normal. A lot more, and the engine is very rough. Like it's starving for fuel or air.

They asked me if I had modified the tune in the car, which I haven't. Must be a standard question. Who would tune a car with only 1200ks on the clock?

A few days ago I was driving through this beautiful and exclusive neighbourhood, when suddenly a wild civil i30 appeared in nearly the same colour as mine, so I took the opportunity to take a couple side by side pics.
Just for kicks, I present to you the "find over 140 differences" challange ;)
This might also be my contribution to the dirty N thread ;P

I still don’t have my car and the communication from the service department is quite poor. I ring every three days, they say we will get back to you soon with an update and they don’t call.

I’ll share my insights about Hyundai’s training of service personnel (called “Master Techs”) after this saga ends. It’s not great.

The way things are going the car will have spent half it’s life in Australia in a service centre.
Boooooooooooooo! This makes me feel somewhat guilty about having a reasonably good experience to date, and also makes me worry that my good run will come to an abrupt end at some stage - especially given my location; not a lot of talent up here, and the second of only two Ns (including mine) in the NT has only just been released from captivity apparently. I really feel for you, mate :(
