Thinking of changing mine to another brand, they are so noisy and something that remotely grips pulling out on a damp/wet road :)

Anyone done this / recommendations ?

I want to change before the car is detailed in a couple of weeks, and providing I can find someone who will change them with kid gloves on, at 100 miles only, I don't want damaged rims !
 
There’s a huge tyre thread for the i30N, worth a look! PS4 would be my recommendation, but a couple of other good ones in that thread too.

On the tyre sites I've had a look at, the Michelin PS4S tyres shows the same '71dB' as our PZero tyres, albeit with a C/A rating against our D/A for Fuel and Wet grip respectively. The PS4S do come in at £20 cheaper per corner. Are they really that much better than the numbers suggest?

If it's anything like the i30N, yes they're definitely considerably better.

Given the fairly poor weather we get in Scotland for the majority of the year and my non-hooligan driving style, I'm considering All-Season Tyres for the KonaN when these P-Zeros have gone, just because it would be cheaper than buying a second set of wheels & tyres for Winter.
My possible contenders so far are the 'Michelin CrossClimate' or the 'Continental All Season Contact'. They both do quite well under comparison in the Nordic Testing facility (Youtube: Tyre Comparisons) but, I don't imagine that they'd be the best boots to have on under NGS or Launch conditions though ...
That all said, If I find some cash in a drawer I might just stretch to an 18" alloy set with comfortable AS tyres to swap out between November and April ... Oh my aching wallet :rolleyes:

New boots going on today, they don't look that big on the car, however sat in the house, the tyres take up quite a bit of room :)
 
Update, the horrible crunching noise when cold and wheels turned has all gone as well, I can pull out in the mornings and all quiet :)

Hi all, new owner Kona N picked it up Friday 2,500 miles on the clock and absolutely love it But the tyre noise at low speed turning is a pain.

I don’t know if it’s me but the pirelli P Zero don’t fill me with confidence at all, pushing a couple of times around roundabouts it got out of shape.
Coming from a GR yaris I know the Yaris is 4 wheel drive and lighter but the Michelins are so much better.
I have Michelins pilots on the GT-R35 and never once have I thought how the tyre would reacted when driving hard they just get on with it.
So new Michelins at some point soon and see how it drives.

Tyres - Pirelli P Zero Discussion

Anyone have any idea how much the Pirelli N tyre will be? I don't own an i30n yet but hoping to arrange getting one around May. Before that though, I'm trying to factor in some of the running costs so I know what I'll be getting my self in to.

All my own opinion below.
The pirellis are damn great when warm, dry, in the summer. "on rails" feeling. They have other deficits like wet performance and wear. My PS4(non s) are much softer feeling when turning in, the ride gets softer, they are much better in the wet. On rails feeling is nearly gone though.
Driving a summertyre in your climate could be the root of your problem.
The roundabouts thing, try it again with warm tyres. Nearly lost control of the car a few weeks ago at ~ 0°C outside with cold tyres, cold engine. I was not fast at all, just too fast for the corner (first exit)

So my tyre's 'P Zero' are going to need replacing in next 1k miles which is mental even on my i30n fastback I got 9k out of them and I'm not even an aggressive driver..

Anyone tried or know someone who has tried EAGLE F1 ASYMMETRIC 3 SUV

PS4S are around £220 a corner which is also mental, any suggestions welcome.
 
I sympathise - mine has only done 3.6K and are probably 2 thirds gone! I have rotated them to try and even it up so I will have the shock of all 4 at one time - I just want to get rid of the P Zeros.

There seems to be a following for Michelin CC2, which are around the same price you quoted?

I've gone for Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 XL in end as I had them on my i30N Fastback and they where a lot better than PZero's.

I cant justify another £100 on top of the F1s for the PS4's as I don't hammer that car much.
 
Well got the tyres replace but not with what i ordered LOL, Turned up and they didn't have the F1 Aysm 6 in stock so they sent Bridgestone Turanza 6's. Pretty impressed TBH.
 
My Kona N has just covered 5300 miles and the front tyres are already almost on the tread depth indicators and are needing changed. Although the rears have a bit more wear left I'll be changing all four. I've found the Pirellis to be a fairly good tyre but I've never before experienced such a high level of wear.

As I live in Scotland and we are approaching Autumn/Winter I'm looking at replacing with all-season tyres. I'm considering Michelin CC and I would be interested on hearing anyone's experience of these or any recommendations for alternatives.
 
Don't laugh, but Falkens are worth considering. I run them on my 370Z Nismo and have previously had them fitted to other performance cars as well. No issues with wear or handling, plus cheaper.

I do get that tyres are an important choice, depending on the vehicle, but I find people get too obsessed with the view that it's got to be Michelin PS** and nothing else.

I'm sitting in a shop right now getting tires with only 11,000 miles on it. I'm getting some all-seasons since it's my daily.
