Hello all,

I’ve got an issue at the moment with my hyandai I30N. It’s 2020 on 75,000 miles. It’s loosing power around 2.5k revs but carries on going to 4k revs where it turns jittery. No warning lights are present and I can’t see anything else which is wrong with the car. This only happens when I put my foot down, but if I have a chilled drive I won’t notice it happen at all!

I had it checked at a garage two weeks ago and there were no codes on this at all and have since done the recall for the fuel pump

Any help would be great thank you!

What is the condition of the battery/charge? When were the plugs last done? Do you run a tune? Coil(s) or injectors can cause the issue as can contaminated (bad) gas.

Sounds like a loss of fuel enrichment when flooring immediately. From these low revs you activating the over boost and you have a high peak in the fuel consumption. Fuel enrichment for immediately acceleration is a chapter in a map, yes even stock OEM map.
I don't know if i20 & i30 still having a classical FPR too in the fuel system.

This flat spot could came from a weak HPFP or the delivery fuel pump in the tank, a single
injector or injectors or at least everything else in the whole injection system as well some of the sensors.

On a modern car the ECU's have that many security restrictions which is wanted to hopefully save the engine. These restrictions will work briefly & short often not sending failure codes, so often the CEL won't get on and stay on, maybe light up once quick every time the failure happens or even never light up!

Also checking all turbo hoses n stuff, best way a proper mechanic reading all real time values while you are driving and causing the failure.

Please check your boost pressure values on the dash, I think that's the only thing you can do by yourself or keeping an eye on it.
