Ioniq 5N or Ioniq 6N...?

Any 5N owners thinking of changing to a 6N? Any 5N lease owners in particular, thinking about moving model/brand (and if so, to what) or just getting another 5N at the end of their lease...? It would be interesting to get your opinion.

I have had lots of cars over the years, from some dreadful cars when I first started driving (while a nice working Opel Manta is considered cool, mine was a rusty let-down), a few excellent Japanese cars (my Toyota Supra 2.8 was a class act), to some really quality German brands. My 5N is my first EV and it has been the one that has impressed me the most. When my lease expires, I have every intention (as it currently stands) to simply hand it back and ask for another one (it might even be in the same Cyber Grey colour!). I haven't driven the 6N but the 5N strikes me as more practical and not quantifiably a lesser car dynamically. And they're both the same money in the UK.

But I'd like to know what you all think. Let me know!

We looked at the 6N and it appears to be a marginally better car, though much the same thing. Marginally quicker, better sounds, better handling. However wife didn't like the styling at all and the sloping rear make headroom an issue for tall people in the back. So we just got another 5N.

So my local dealership now has a 6N "demonstrator" and a 6N [unregistered] showroom car in and I had a look at both while my 5N was being serviced. The demo car was in Nocturne Grey Matte while the showroom car was in Abyss Black Pearl. They look much better in the metal than they do in photos and the interior - while similar to the 5 - is a slightly nicer and more practical place to be. And I know this will sound obvious but the two colours also give the cars two quite different visual stances due to the lower portion of the car being gloss black whatever body colour you specify. It was quite a divided opinion with staff and public in the showroom as to preferences. Personally, I liked it in black. However, despite it being the newer and more improved car, there were still some things that would still sway me towards the 5N over it. Rear passenger headroom (as well as ingress and egress if you're tall) is not great. The boot is big but through-loading your IKEA lengthy purchases for example, is going to be limited due to that bracing. I'm not really a fan of saloons. I'm also not a fan of completely black wheels (although I much prefer their design and tyre size). I haven't arranged a test drive (yet) so can't say whether it's quantifiably better to drive... but from a "practical" perspective... the 5N I think suits me more. I may change that view when I test drive it. I'll keep you updated.

Test drove the 6N today and from a performance perspective, there is next to nothing in it. It is a noticeably different car from a ride comfort point of view and the steering felt a little sharper... but mechanical grip and outright performance felt pretty much the same to me. The interior layout is a little different but functionality is the same. There are small improvements here and there... like it has dedicated heated seat controls, a panoramic roof that actually opens and central locking button on the boot lid (why has the 5N not got this!?) However, the biggest let down for me is that it has just as bad (maybe even slightly worse) a turning circle than the 5N. They're practically the same price but in the UK, generally, the 5N comes out as a little more expensive to lease. Out of the two, it's still the one I would go for... but I look forward to seeing how the new all-electric Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 fares when that hits the road in 2027 as it will be the closest rival to the 6N in particular... if Mercedes can price it right...

I would prefer an BEV with mechanical LSD on front & rear. Not sure if the BEV N's are with these, but pretty sure AMG BEV's won't have because these aren't performance wise cars.
