Hi All
I’ve have a late 2018 i30N that I’ve owned from new, with 49k miles- still love it!
It broke down last weekend and the Hyundai dealer said the HPFP had failed and that this was a “known” issue on this car.

Has anyone else had this failure?

If it is a known issue and poor design I want to challenge Hyundai uk as I’m just out of warranty and it’s cost a lot to replace it. I’ve heard that they have upgrade the A0 pump with an A1 version (which I’ve asked the dealer to fit)

Any info gratefully received

How much did they charge you?
Alternative replacements are available for about £400. Simple to replace.
I had it recovered to the dealer as it was dead and at the time I had no idea what was wrong. Gonna cost £900 with spark plugs as well (diagnostic and labour cost as well)! Not cheap! Don’t know how much the pump is.

Would it be worth it to upgrade the HPFP as a preventative measure?
I saw on another thread that the early A0 pumps (like on mine) were the ones that failed more often. I’ve checked that they are going to fit an A1 pump.
Disappointed with the time it’s taking the dealer to get it though! Ordered on Wednesday but not due in until Monday.
