i20N tuning in Australia

I'm looking for a good tuner in the southeast Queensland area. A Google search only brings up one in the area and I'd like to speak to as many as I can before I decide who to go with.

Has anyone in my area had their i20N tuned and/or can recommend their tuner?

Thanks.

Hyundai N Tuning is your one stop. They are the best and won't try to rip you off on pointless/expensive upgrades. Sean is also a good bloke to boot who actually races his i30N.

Have these guys got the i20N ECU cracked?

Looks like i30N at this stage, but don't rule it out. They use N75 Motorsport ECU reflashing which is internationally supported. I would contact them to enquire.

would be good to have a list of tuners in each state that can reflash the ECU.

I havent heard of any Aus tuners that are guaranteed to have the ability to unlock for stage3, but as i'm not thinking of swapping the turbo, then it'd be good to see how far people can get with stage 2.

Yeah, that's really what I'd like to know, who exactly has the capability to perform proper stage 2 and 3 tunes.

Not me, I have an i30, but I do have a graph for you. This is with Downpipe, exhaust, HKS plugs, and a Forge Motorsport intake, this little rocket made, 170kw and 343nm at the wheels on 98Ron. I'm not affiliated with the company but had a stage 1 tune done and was so happy, I'm going back to get some more work done.1765957197546.png

According to my maths 170.3 kW converts to 228 BHP and you can get that by just adding a DTUK tuning box. Also, power tails off steeply after 5200 RPM! In all honesty I can’t say I find these results to be very convincing at all and I would describe this as a poor stage 1 tune.

I had the stage 1 tune, not the graph. I own a i30N.

Yeah, sorry if I was unclear, I was just commenting on the graph and not your experience or anything personally to do with you 👍.

Spoke to Cherry Tuning today, and theres a difference in the v1 and v2 rom that makes a fair difference. Some airflow max value is hardcoded in the rom of v2 but not in v1. he suggested it was possible to put a v1 rom in a v2 and you'd lose the bluelink. they are also still digging into the rom further to reveal the limits, so perhaps 2026 will bring some new tuning options. if its possible to drop in a v1 file and not have to constantly disable safety stuff then i'd kiss bluelink goodbye.

Same here, I'd gladly ditch bluelink for that.

Cherry rekon they have figured out the block in the ECU code and can remove/raise the limit.

I know they got some help from someone in Europe(Germany?) that was helping decode the ROM.
There are some other tuners around the world that have probably done similar themselves, or this fix was essentially sold/licensed by whoever cracked the code.

I'm just chuffed that there's now a tuner within a short drive of my home that can reflash/tune i20N ECUs, that doesn't have to fake the boost and flow numbers. I'm hoping that it makes for better/safer tunes.

I wonder if this means that there's potential for defaulting assists to OFF on a V2?

Currently i disable Lanekeeping and set Speed Assist to Info-Only every time i start the car...
I'd love if there's a tidy constant value that handles the regulatory mandated enable-at-every-start that could be flipped from 1 to 0, etc...

Apparently new cars are getting super naggy with mandatory driver attention monitoring, and i cringe at the future of driver assists.
