Hey mate,

I got quoted around 41k when I called up to inquire a few months ago. The salesman mentioned that it would have been under a similar contract to what they did for the Tucson, where if the price they quoted initially was higher they would drop to the initial price, and if it was lower it would be the lower price.

I thought 41k was a bit rich as it is pretty much i30n territory, and said if it was around 37k or so I would put a deposit down then and there. The i20n seems to compete quite well with the FiST in terms of price in the UK so I would expect a similar price here and I mentioned that to the salesman.

Still confident in my 37k estimate so I'm holding out for official pricing to be released.

I hope you get a good price mate, ive pulled the trigger on the dct i30n now.. but i was super keen on the i20n its going to be a little weapon

I have been hoping for under AUSD35K on the road. I have had a deposit on one since December 2020. If it's more than that I will bail. It would be too close in costing to the i30N to be considered for my money.

On road for 35k is a bit too optimistic mate.

$45k is a huge ripoff, I find it hard to believe that’ll be the price? that’s $10k more than I paid for my Fiesta ST, no way would they sell any for that, anything north of $37k would be ridiculous..

Can't blame a salesman for overquoting on a product they don't have pricing info about yet, but I agree. Seems like the i20n is a bit more expensive than the optioned FiST in the UK so I'm expecting a similar situation here. At $40k I think Hyundai would struggle to sell any as I'm sure people would drop the slightly more cash on an i30n instead, just like digitalpeer did, or just buy a FiST.

The I20 N is priced at around the same value as a pretty well equipped Fiesta ST here in Portugal, but Ford makes huge discounts. I had a €7.000 discount on a Puma ST without even haggling. Hyundai will only do €1.800.

I guess in a world where a bog standard Yaris costs 25k then I suppose anything is possible.. still even if it’s 40k? Hyundai will struggle massively here trying to sell it for that, not when you can walk across the road to Ford and pick up a FiST for $5k less, the good thing is you’ve got that card up yr sleeve as a bargaining tool.. Give it to me for $37k or I’m heading over to Ford, they’ll soon drop the price..

Pleasantly surprised 😊

Not so happy about the delay to Q4 though

What the heck? the dealers i talk to just had a heads up from hyundai for end of august start of sept last week! thats going to piss a few people off!

Looks like someone was having fun:

The tester describes the car as "extremely playful", and says he enjoys driving it even more than the i30N. He loves the fact that it weighs just under 1200kg, and says it a real old-school hot hatch.

At 8 million Hungarian forints, it is about 35k AUD.
