I20N Condensation Issues

Common issue, if you look closely at the light bar and rear lights, the clear plastic around the edges isn't sealed! So it's by design that water can get behind there unfortunately. No idea why. Some old Honda cars have the same light design.
Dealerships will only replace it if condensation is getting over the red reflector.
Yours looks like it could be a candidate for that. Mine gets condensation and water in when I wash it or it's rained but the red part is always clear.
I would raise it with your dealer to see what they say. While a replacement part won't stop condensation getting behind the clear plastics, it should at least mean your red reflector remains clear.
I think I'm probably going to have my rear lights and light bar wrapped at some point to mask the issue as it does make it look a mess on a new car sometimes.

I have that too - goodness know why it was not produced as a sealed unit.
Maybe an illuminated option may appear, as we see on numerous other makes, that would be better.

Just so you are all aware, if you have water inside the clear rear plastic strip that goes between the rear lights causing condensation then you can get it replaced under warranty.
I am still waiting for the replacement to arrive at the dealers but was told it is definitely covered on warranty.
I understand it is quite a common problem, mine looks pretty messy and it's likely the seal isn't up to scratch. Hopefully they have improved the seal when it gets replaced for the new one.
Anyone else with this issue go and see your local dealers and ask them to replace under warranty.

Still waiting for replacement parts after several weeks and 4 calls to the dealers. Just told the new part is on order and they can't say when it will arrive. It is utterly ridiculous it's only a clear plastic strip for God sake between the rear lights. I have sent out a few emails to both Hyundai UK as well as the dealership but no reply. Tried again with another phone call to dealers yesterday and told again the part is on order, no further details. I get the feeling they don't want to replace it for some reason it's peeing me off now. Very frustrating
Noticed the same issue with my "Light Bar" and the adjacent hatch mounted lights today after my first wash of the car. Will be raising with my Dealer this week. Deeply underwhelmed on a brand new car. Absolutely stupid design

Just had my rear light bar replaced by Hyundai after waiting several weeks. They refused to do the smaller inner lights either side though that also have condensation building up.
It's been confirmed I had a detailer who stated that the foam and water got behind the lights especially in the rear.
So nothing new on this side.
I don't see any solution here because there is no real problem to solve.
It's not stupid letting the water pass by behind the light housing but the design is not good enough so the water holds on at some tight areas and as a result it leaves marks and spots after drying.

Today I have seen condensation in the left outer rear light (in the fender)
Right nothing.
Without washing the car.
The car has been parked in the sun for an hour. All the other time it is parked in the shadow all day long.
Maybe that's the rest of humidity

The rear light bar garnish on my i20 N is looking pretty bad too. Water marks on the top clear part. Does any one know the part number for this item ?. When I search online I can only find the i20 version and not the N one. Cheers.

These days I got the same problem again only in the outer left rear light housing.
There are few water drops since couple of days caused by driving in the rain (no power wash) which doesnt go away from alone (car is parked in the shadow all time during night and day at work).
I would like to know how the lamp is sealed and vented properly from design without removing both sides for a comparison.
Due to the fact that the right one has no problems I would say that there are good and bad rear lights among all I20Ns.
If I would remov both lamps.
What should I look for?
Maybe there are venting holes with or without grommets? Maybe one is missing from factory?
Maybe the sealing all around between the inner and outer halfs has small defects which cant be seen with human eye?
MAybe maybe maybe.
All i know is that it bothers me... It's the only thing on my I20N that annoys me honestly and I would love to fix it but I dont want to mess up with the cheap design of mounting of the lamps in the quater panel.
Somebody here who has gone into that rabbit hole and spend some time understanding the design of the rear lamps
and maybe has a solution for prevention of the condensation/water-trap?
