What a review!

"Thumb the N button and the car feels properly serious, the exhaust blare goes from aggressive to angry, like you just said something rude about its mum"

Best review ive seen of any car, yet more greatful that im soon to take delivery of yhis beast!

I don't know how big the difference is between Australian and other suspension stiffnes, but it kinda defeats the sincerity of the review for me when they say nobody will be spending much time out of the N mode... maybe just a figure of speech... An enjoyable read, feels a tad too... fawning?

I agree in that the reviewer seems a little too gushy. Maybe a Hyundai exec was standing on the other side of the camera. :D
To be fair to the reviewer on the N mode issue, most reviewers I have watched / read are pretty much always in N mode for the duration of the review. I, like most of our members I am sure have watched countless reviews on the car and would attest to this.
The other modes don't really get more that a passing mention which is a little disappointing as I expect N mode will only take up about 10-20% of my time in the car. Can't see me daily driving in N mode. Unless I cannot help myself. o_O
Still watching this passed the time and gets me a few minutes closer to my car. Maybe I will do my own review on the "other" modes once it arrives.

Believe me Stash-N I used different modes to begin with, like a couple of days. Now it's N all the way unless I leave the house in the early hours. That N button is so addictive it's what the car was built for.Its just so responsive in N mode compared to ECO!

@Stash-N I can review the other modes for you, Sport - totally pointless, Normal - pointless, Eco - crap I might run out of petrol, maybe if I put it in Eco I'll get to the petrol station? :p
Like @Manted said, I messed about with all the other modes and now I start it and straight into N mode. Can't be bothered mucking about ;)

So it appears the reviewers are on the mark as the tide of members who use nothing but N mode mercilessly it would seem appear to be telling me.
I am sure there should be some punctuation in the first sentence but eehhhh!
Addictive is a term heard several times in relation to this car and N mode in particular. Good job I don't have an addictive personality.
Seems like it will be put to the test if the car ever gets here that is.:(
Eco mode does seem a little redundant in a car such as the N I agree. Normal and sport cannot be fully useless can they? Can they?
I guess I just need the car so I can come to some conclusions with empirical data first hand. Please Mr Hyundai make it so.

Go big or go home @Stash-N :p

I occasionally use eco on the motorway if I’m doing a long slog. Other two modes are just in the way to get to eco  But I do 70+ miles a day all in N mode.

Ha, so you use ECO mode sometimes! Now everyone knows your dirty secret.
I just envisaged using normal or sport driving back and forth to work all the 16kms each way. N mode for the weekends. Maybe I won't be able to keep to that but it might be fun trying.

@Stash-N I know how to live if that’s my dirty secret! I only use eco on a really long slog, but even then it’s unusual. I fill up every 4 days, same as my old car, so I’m not too fussed. I don’t bother on my daily driving, I’ve now gone to N mode rather than custom.

Don't you find the suspension a little harsh on N mode 100% everything? During my test drives switching to N mode was fun but the ride was close to that of a go kart. Did not play about with Custom mode. Got to save something for the actual ownership experience.

@Stash-N it is harsh, but I’m kinda used to it and I like it. It’s not for everyone though, and sometimes you’ll hit a patch of road everything is all over the place (I won’t say what I refer to that as o_O). Most people have the suspension toned down, which is how my custom mode is set. That’s probably a more sensible way to drive it!! You’ll love it when it turns up :D

For me it is Normal Mode if I have to Go to work early (5am). In the afternoon it is N mode or Custom (everything maxed except the exhaust, which is on Sport and Rev Matching at the lowest setting).

I have Rev Matching set to the lowest mode cuz people tend to think you are to stupid to drive If your car revs up while downshifting.
And there are day's I can't stand those stupid looks.

According to Geoff Fear, the guy who basically tuned the suspension for the Australian cars, our suspension is MUCH softer than the European suspension setup.

(Geoff, correct me if I heard wrong), but I am sure he said our N mode setting is just slightly harder than the European Normal mode, and our Sport and Normal modes are softer, and way softer than than the European Normal mode. So our N mode is softer than your sport mode, and much softer than your N mode.

Thank God (and Geoff) for that! I drive in Custom mode all day every day, driving in (our) N mode on Australian roads is just too hard, and your N mode would be brain rattling. I drive with every thing turned up to the max, with 2 exceptions. The suspension is set in Normal mode, plenty firm enough for every day driving, and the engine response turned down one notch, from Sport+ to Sport. Why? Because you get the loud aggressive exhaust noise, but no pops and bangs. Those pops and bangs are NOT legal in any state or territory in Australia.

And whenever I see the boys in blue, hit the left button, back to Normal, and wait till they leave!

Hold the phone
The exhaust noises are illegal in Australia ! How can they sell a car with illegal exhaust ? I have not seen anything to say you cannot use the louder exhaust settings on public roads. I am not doubting this especially if coming from @Geoff Fear but it seems strange considering Australia and it's ADRs. :( Governments love regulating the shit out of us and can't believe they would allow an exhaust system that is NOT legal. :(:(:(:(:(
