I agree in that the reviewer seems a little too gushy. Maybe a Hyundai exec was standing on the other side of the camera.I don't know how big the difference is between Australian and other suspension stiffnes, but it kinda defeats the sincerity of the review for me when they say nobody will be spending much time out of the N mode... maybe just a figure of speech... An enjoyable read, feels a tad too... fawning?
So by Custom Mode you really mean N mode but with soft suspension settings.I am still under the impression that majority of drivers spend most time in custom mode?
Ha, so you use ECO mode sometimes! Now everyone knows your dirty secret.Go big or go home @Stash-N
I occasionally use eco on the motorway if I’m doing a long slog. Other two modes are just in the way to get to ecoBut I do 70+ miles a day all in N mode.
Don't you find the suspension a little harsh on N mode 100% everything? During my test drives switching to N mode was fun but the ride was close to that of a go kart. Did not play about with Custom mode. Got to save something for the actual ownership experience.@Stash-N I know how to live if that’s my dirty secret! I only use eco on a really long slog, but even then it’s unusual. I fill up every 4 days, same as my old car, so I’m not too fussed. I don’t bother on my daily driving, I’ve now gone to N mode rather than custom.

Hold the phoneAccording to Geoff Fear, the guy who basically tuned the suspension for the Australian cars, our suspension is MUCH softer than the European suspension setup.
(Geoff, correct me if I heard wrong), but I am sure he said our N mode setting is just slightly harder than the European Normal mode, and our Sport and Normal modes are softer, and way softer than than the European Normal mode. So our N mode is softer than your sport mode, and much softer than your N mode.
Thank God (and Geoff) for that! I drive in Custom mode all day every day, driving in (our) N mode on Australian roads is just too hard, and your N mode would be brain rattling. I drive with every thing turned up to the max, with 2 exceptions. The suspension is set in Normal mode, plenty firm enough for every day driving, and the engine response turned down one notch, from Sport+ to Sport. Why? Because you get the loud aggressive exhaust noise, but no pops and bangs. Those pops and bangs are NOT legal in any state or territory in Australia.
And whenever I see the boys in blue, hit the left button, back to Normal, and wait till they leave!
For cars built before January 1983, the maximum noise level is 96 decibels and for newer cars the level is 90 decibels. For motorcycles built on or after 1 March 1984, and designed or manufactured for use on a road, the level is 94 decibels. The noise level for other motorcycles is 100 decibels.
